can i straighten and reshape my teeth without braces

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008
Q.
Hi, all through high school, i had braces for almost 4 years because my teeth were really badly crooked. the looked great when they came off and were perfectly straight. after just a couple of years, they went back to how they used to be. now theyre crooked again. i feel like I am too old for braces now and dont see the point in going through all that again if theyre only going to go back to crooked again. is there any other alternatives in straightening them? and also, any way of re-shaping them as my top front ones seem to be larger than the rest. which over all, my teeth are not great at all. could you reccomend what i could do? your advise and reply would be so helpful. please respond. thank you

I had braces as a teenager and have lovely straight teeth

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008
Q.
Hi, I had braces as a teenager and have lovely straight teeth, but recently due to immune deficiency related early onset periodontal disease I had to have periodontal treatment. Due to gum recession following the treatment I now have a gap between my front teeth just at the top where the gum used to extend down between my teeth. Is there any orthodontic treatment that would be suitable to reduce the size of the gap at the top of my front teeth?

Unfortunately not

I have always had slightly crooked teeth

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008
Q.
Hi, I have always had slightly crooked teeth and probably should have had braces at a younger age. Now I am 22 I have had some problems with my teeth over the past few years. They have become more and more crowded, which feels like the gap between the left and right teeth is becoming smaller. This has also affected my speech slightly. One of my front bottom teeth is around 5mm further back then the rest, which rubs against my tongue and has caused ulcers from time to time. I have also suffered from painful teeth. At my age how long would a problem like this take to solve and what solution do you recommend?

Please advise whether it is worth visiting a cosmetic dentist

Saturday, October 11th, 2008
Q.
Please advise whether it is worth visiting a cosmetic dentist problems are as follows. I had braces fitted as a child as I had a very bad over-bite. The problem was never completely resolved, in my mid twenties I had caps fitted (x4) to try and improve the condition, which slightly improved the appearance. Teeth became infected and I had to have x 3 root fillings gums have now receded. 2 years ago I had an accident and my front tooth from knocked out and a cap is now attached to a peg – which is now loose. I am still very unhappy with the look of my teeth I never smile and I am becoming more and more depressed. Is there any way of straightening my teeth and improving the appearance?

best solution for the perfect smile

Monday, September 29th, 2008
Q.
The teeth that are supposed to be between my front and K9 teeth are missing (they did not grow through as a child), because of this my front and K9 teeth are spaced out, leaving large gaps. I wondered what options would be available to me to get a ‘perfect smile’

I have been looking into cosmetic dentistry

Sunday, September 21st, 2008
Q.
Hi Dr Rob, I have been looking into cosmetic dentistry for a little while now. I have suffered from poor oral hygiene and crooked teeth for a long time, it has got to the stage where I do not smile. I have a slight over bite, have 2 teeth that are hidden underneath my bottom set of teeth and 2 short dracula teeth. I appreciate that you cannot give me your complete view without seeing me, but any advice at this early stage would be a great help. After years of misery I really need to sort my problem out as it leading to me feeling depressed. From the information I have gathered, I understand that there are several methods of dentistry available to me i.e. tooth veneers, implants and orthodontics. I would like to pursue the road to orthodontics possibly Invisalign as I understand that this is a long term solution and I am not after a quick fix. I would like to know if your surgery could help me, or if you could possibly recommend a colleague who specialises in this area. I live in the Birmingham area and would also like to know the cost for this procedure in the Birmingham area. Keep up the good work ! Many thanks

Will lumineers help my sensitive teeth

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008
Q.
I have got sensitive teeth. If i would get lumineers it would be a kind of protection? Because now I need to go at least every half year to the dental hygiene to get ride of the stains and after that the teeth are more sensitive. I think the stains are getting worse after each treatment. My problems are the stains which come shortly again after the treatment. What about lumineers? Is it possible to make lumineers also on the inner side of the teeth?

I am looking for a good reputable dentist and hygienist

Saturday, June 28th, 2008
Q.
Despite being a regular visitor to the dentist, over the years I have endured considerable dental treatments, some of which have been as a result of poor dentistry. As I approach my late 40\’s I am considering cosmetic dentistry to improve the appearance of my teeth but feel I first of all need a good regular dentist that I can trust and who will help me take good care of my teeth. My children have fortunately not suffered in the same way as I have and I am keen to ensure they are also receiving good quality dental advice. Other than searching through dentists registered with the BDA, is there any way I can find a very good reputable dentist and hygenist who will be able to provide appropriate dental advice/treatment to myself and my family. I am prepared to travel outside my immediate area if this is necessary.
