Can the size of the front teeth be reduced?

unhappy with my smile mainly the top teeth

Hi there, I wanted to ask about what the best treatment would be as I am unhappy with my smile mainly the top teeth. They are straight as I had braces a few years ago but I show to much gum at the top when I smile and this makes my mouth area look small and gives me an unattractive smile. What could I do to solve this. Many thanks.

How do I correct my crooked teeth?

Hello, i’m 26 and have had crooked teeth for as long as i can remember. (i used to suck my thumb when i was younger) I first went to a dentist about my teeth when i was 14 or so, he gave me a removeable brace, it was a plastic plate in my mouth with a wire going around my teeth. (top teeth) I wore it for afew weeks, but it was uncomfy and hurt my teeth really badly. so i had to stop wearing it. (i went back to him several times saying that. he changed it slighty and gave it me back :/ no improvement. another few weeks went by, and it still hurt my teeth, so i went back to him, told him that.. he took the brace out of my mouth and threw it into the dustbin. and told me not to come back.! I was only 14 at the time, and wanted my teeth sorting out. he wouldnt help me. (he was the only orthodontist in my area back then) so i had no other choice then to find another dentist.. but they didnt do that kind of work. I never got my teeth straightened. I’m sure i saw a dentist after that time, but it was many years ago, and i’ve done lots since then. I last saw a dentist in march 2008, but not since then. Anyway moving onto my teeth, i’d love to get them looking nice and straightened. my top 2 front teeth overbite the bottom ones, about 1cm? then the 2 top teeth either side of the 2 top front teeth over bite the bottom teeth by half a cm.. like so, _–_

My teeth are not straight and my gums are black and I don’t like my smile, How can I get my gums pink again and can i get braces

Hi there,my front two teeth are crowded and on the right side of my front teeth i have a bridge that was put in 4 years ago to cover my space that was showing, and on the other side which is the left my own teeth next to the front, the teeth is not straight, my gums are black due to smoking because i never had black gums before smoking how can i have them pink again? concerning my teeth i am 24 years old and unemployed, i dont pay for my checkups but my dentist have said it would cost me around £1600 to have a brace, i went to my orthodontists he said they are no severe but i dont like my smile. I dont mind paying that amount if its nothing more but how cn i have treatment done, a private dentist gave me a quote of £3000 in manchester. Please can you help?

Hi there i am wanting my teeth sorting out

Hi there, at the present moment im an nhs patient and im wanting my teeth sorting out i wont smile when people look or talk to me, when i chew i cant use my front teeth as they dont meet up with my lower ones, they go over the top, ive askd my dentist what i can do and she just said leave them alone as your gums are not 100% perfect but ive had terrible gums all my life and nobody has said anything about in the dentistry, she also said ive got too many fillings for anybody to even assess me, how can she judge a person by this, my old dentist said the reason why ive had 2 have these fillings which were my 1st ever at the age of 26 was because of my pregnancies the babies took all my calcium from me and put veneers on my upper left 2nd n 3rd and my upper right 2nd n 3rd teeth, im 39yrs old now and my husband goes mad at me when we have family get togethers as im always behind the camera, we didnt even have wedding pictures done beacuse i wont have my photos taken or anything, please can you give me some advice as to what i could do, i dont like locally to your surgery but if i have some advice then i may be able to do something as im getting to be a recluse because of this and cant even find a job… please can you email me back thanks

i have recently had a fall and my front tooth has broken off

I have recently had a fall and smashed my face againt a wall, part of my front tooth has broken off which has now left the remainder of my tooth with a sharp point and looks awful. If i go to the detist will they be able to treat me right away, and what is the procedure to repair a chipped tooth. Is there any pain involved as i have a great fear of going to the dentists and avoid needles at all costs. And any idea of what the price would be.

Im 17, i had ceramic put on recently. My orthodontic said I would only need to use them for 6 months. I only have a couple spacing problems. Is it possible that i only need them for 6 months when I keep hearing that the average time is 2 years or so.

hello i have had many fillings in my 40 years

Hello,i have had many fillings in my 40 years ive recently had a front tooth taken out which had a root filling and a terrible mess made fitting a false tooth almost half the size of my other tooth cause of the impression im looking fow vaneers i think for a nice smile how much would this cost?? i have holes at least 2 plus discoloured teeth and as i say alot of fillings A LOT thank you

I have known for a while I will need braces

Hello, I am 17 years old, and I have known for a while I will need braces. i go to an NHS orthodontist and have a removable brace. However, I have been told I need to have four teeth out. This is a big problem for me because I am terrified of needles and having the teeth pulled out. I have tried to have the teeth pulled out four times, twice under sedation. I would like to know if there any braces which I could have which would not need any teeth pulling out, as I would love to have straight teeth. Thank You.

I am a very nervous person about Dentists

Hi Komai I am a very nervous person about Dentists and am 22 yr old student who also has never had any work done on my teeth i have had consultations done but too scared too go back because the dentist was really nasty to me for never going(my parent never took me) but i really have lost all confidence and don’t want to smile or look in the mirror. I would really love to have cosmetic dentistry and start over with a new smile. Do you think that you could get this done on the NHS as i cant really afford the cost of the treatment as im still at uni . regards
