Q.
I have just had my 2 front teeth removed today as they had overlapped for years and also I had fell on the hearth when my front teeth were just coming in. I decided to have cosmetic surgery, I had this today. They have fitted temporary teeth until my empress crowns are ready in 2 weeks, Since coming home I have noticed that they are very yellow compared to my teeth and has made me feel quite depressed, is there anything I can do to whiten them??,

Are braces only option for misaligned tooth?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Q.
My teeth are in fairly good condition with the exception of one tooth which sits back on my bottom row. This causes a shadow and it sometimes looks darker. Is teeth whitening appropriate or will the other teeth seem so white that the shadow will look worse? I realise the answer is probably a brace but at 40 years old I am loathed to do this.,

Has bone graft failed?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Q.
Hello, I had a bone graft to UL1-3 area 10 days ago, however the site doesnt seem to be healing properly as i can see material beacuse the gum is not closed. My dentist seem to think that gum will pull with time but my concern is how is it possible for gum to pull when there is such a big gum and nothing seem pulling it at the moment as stiches that holded two parts of gum came off. DO you think it is a good idea to stitch the gum again or shall i wait when it heels properly? I am just worried that the gum wont close on its own and bone graft will fail. Please advise. Thanks!!,

What can be done for tooth that is too high in jaw line?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Q.
Hello Dr. Moore. At first I would like to thank you for your time! In brief, I’m an 18 year old female and I have a problem with one of my upper canine teeth. My right upper canine took a very long time to come in after my baby tooth fell out; it began growing around age 16. Now, two and a half years later, it seems to be grown, however, it sits much higher in my jaw than all other teeth. I’m definitely ready to bring it down! However, I do not need/want braces as my other teeth are straight so I’m looking for a procedure that focuses on this tooth only. Any suggestions on what can be done? The time frame? And the approximate cost? Here is my tooth: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d160/iheartmelots/id123.jpg Please help me!! Again, I appreciate your time and thank you so much in advance!!,

Would implants be best option to replace gapped teeth?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Q.
I had a large gap between my two front teeth and my eye teeth are missing. I had two braces – the first one didn’t work at all – they sprung back before the retainer could be fitted and after the second one I had a wire put on to the back of them to keep them together. But the side teeth moved to create two gaps either side and the front ones began to cross. I then opted for four crowns to fill the gaps but in order to do this they are so big I look awful – like a horse and have no confidence. And I STILL have a gap in the front as even the crowns couldn’t stop them moving apart. I cannot see the way forward: If I have smaller crowns it won’t fill the gaps. Would implants work – can they only be placed where the teeth were before so would still have to be big? I’m 27 and have spent all my life dreading opening my mouth to talk to people or smile. What, if anything can be done? Thanks,

Are there any alternatives for straightening crooked teeth?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010
Q.
Hello, i’ve got a problem, My two front teeth they are kind of crooked, the front tooth on the right is overlapping the left hand tooth. And also my canines are sticking out of the gum. More pushed out more than anything. What would you insist on doing? Bracers is one option, but is it possible to get a brace that is removable, for example: Like a retainer or something like that? Because i’ll admit I am completely ashamed of my looks. Teeth wise anyway. And I like my teeth their clean and healthy. I just couldnt see my self wearing a brace in clear daylight. So maybe is their something I can get that i can take off instead of a permanent brace.,
