Hey there, I’m just enquiring on how cosmetic dental insurance is different to normal dental insurance.
I’m going to need implants soon due to having gum disease and I’m too anxious, If I had to wear dentures and would be too embarrassed. I regret not looking after my teeth well enough when I was younger but I was never encouraged too! If I had the money I’d have implants on all my teeth, as my back ones went quite bad when I was pregnant. I also built up a huge fear of dentists as I wasn’t encouraged to go, but I have started to and had a couple of fillings done. I want a perfect smile, but financially I can’t and it gets me down so much! Thank you and kind regards.

How is Cosmetic Dental Insurance Different to Normal Dental Insurance?
Monday, October 17th, 2016Should I Go for Shade B2 or B3 for a Full Mouth Restoration?
Tuesday, March 10th, 2015 I am trying to decide between B2 and B3 shade for a full mouth restoration. I am a 54 year old female and I have a big smile and I am pretty. My dentist thinks B2 is too white. I love the look of upper white and he thinks it looks unnatural. I don’t want to glow in the dark but I want to look clean and bright, what is your opinion on shade other than following my own
thoughts? Also what is the trend? Thank you.
What Would You Recommend for Black Marks on the Teeth?
Tuesday, February 24th, 2015We are just an ordinary run of the mill family with a 14 year old son. He took a bad knock on his two front teeth during a football practice session last year. There are now black marks on these teeth. Our dentist wasn’t worried by these when she saw him a couple of months later, but I think they are permanent, and they are bothering him. I think he may need some cosmetic work. What do you reccommend I should do next?
Will Invisible Braces be Suitable for my Overlapping Teeth?
Thursday, January 8th, 2015Hi Dr Hughes. I’m 56 years old and have just over the last few years noticed that my teeth are starting to overlap. I think it is my incisors on both sides, although one side is worse than the other. I really need some advice please. I am wanting to know if you think having cosmetic surgery will be a better solution for me due to my age, or will the invisible braces be more suitable for me? Please get back to me soon, thanks for your help.
I Regret Not Getting Braces When I Was Younger. I’m 19 Now And I Never Smile. What Do You Feel Is The Best Thing To Do?
Thursday, July 17th, 2014Hi Dr Hughes. I have been self-conscious about my teeth my whole life. I refused to have braces when I was younger because I didn’t want the embarrassment of people noticing them and then noticing my teeth. Now I’m 19 years old and realise it was the biggest mistake I ever made. I never smile because of how my teeth look and it makes me really unhappy on a daily basis. What do you feel the best thing I could do is? Thanks.
How And Where Can I Check If My Dentist Is Mac Veneer Certified At Their Laboratory?
Thursday, July 17th, 2014Hello Dr Moore. How and where can I check if the dentist is Mac Veneer certified at their laboratory?
There are lots of dentist say they are Mac Veneer certified and cannot prove it.
Also, how do I know if they really order the real Mac Veneer from the MicroDental laboratory instead of going to a regular laboratory that they work with to get another kind of pressed ceramic veneer?
Please answer my question because doing cosmetic dental is a big investment and mostly safety.
I want a legitimate and honest answer from a dentist who cares for their patient.
Thank you!
I Would Like to Know If I Can Still Get Braces Even Though I Have Missing Teeth?
Tuesday, April 8th, 2014Hi Mark. I hope you can help me with a problem I have. I’m curious to know if I can wear braces even if I have an incomplete set of teeth. In my upper part I don’t have a second molar and a first premolar and in lower part I don’t have my second molar? My teeth seem to be separating from each other. I want to know because I’m set to visit my dentist and I want to know if it’s worth asking for braces. I just need to know first so that if it’s impossible I will not go to my dentist. Thank you for your time and I look forward to your reply.
I Fell And Broke My Front Teeth A Couple Of Days Ago, I’m Worried My Dentist Wants Me To Wait For Five Weeks. Is This Right?
Wednesday, September 4th, 2013Hi Andrew, my problem is that I fell and broke my two front teeth in half five days ago. My lips and face are still slightly swollen from the fall, but I do not have any tooth ache or sensitivity with any of my teeth. I do not know what options I have as my dentist has told me to wait five weeks before getting X-rays. I am worried that this is really a long time to wait and my options may be even more limited. I am 21 years old and would like to keep my natural teeth, depending on their condition I know, but I do not know if five weeks is too long to wait for an assessment. What would my options be regarding treatment and what you recommend?
I’m 21-Years-Old, Can The NHS Help Close The Gaps In My Teeth?
Monday, August 12th, 2013Hi, I am 21 year old female and I have always had gappy teeth for as long as i can remember, and because of this i spend most of my time trying to hide them.I rarely have them on show or smile in pictures. It has been a problem for years and I feel as I am getting older it is preventing me from doing a lot I things. I was wondering if this is something which generally has to be paid for in full or something which the the NHS could help with? I never received any braces as a youngster as they were never given to me as an option and I’m desperate to sort them out now, I’m getting older and just want a nice smile. I’m not asking for much am I? Thank you for your time, I really hope you can suggest something for me.
