Bridge feels strange when biting but can this be fixed?

Friday, February 12th, 2010
Q.
hello, i just had a permanent bridge put in today. The bridge felt okay at the dentist office but after getting home i noticed that my bite feels off. When i clamp down my teeth none of my other teeth seem to close shut all the way and chewing feels a bit awkward. Will this be a simple fix or will my entire bridge have to be replaced?,

I am going to have veneers but will they need to be replace in the future?

Friday, February 12th, 2010
Q.
Hi Dr Patel I a 30 years old and I have decided to have veneers fitted on my 6 front teeth, due to severe wear and acid erosion which have affected my smile. My dentist told me I will need so called taco shell veneers as there is extensive wear on the back of my front teeth as well. I trust my dentist but I am concerned about the fact that he is going to have to file down my teeth even more now. My smile isn’t great but the teeth are still more or less intact at present. Am I making a mistake? I understand veneers have a life time of 5-10 years. Given that I am only 30 years old, is it possible to repeat the procedure again in the future or would I have to resort to crowns, once the veneers have reached their life span? I am concerned about the fact that I might have a mouth full of crowns by the time I am 40 or so. Many thanks in advance for your opinion.,

Q.
Hello, I have a missing tooth (the full tooth having grown into the roof of my mouth), very worn teeth and so as I need a lot of work am considering going abroad. My concerns not knowing who’s good and who’s not – is getting to speak to the right people. Do you publish a list of providers who are reputable and have bases in London as well?,

Q.
Hello, Thanks fo ryour time I haven been told taht my current bridge on both sides over K9 is leaking and that my bite is causing my front crown to break (2 within 2 years) as a result and that I need the hole procedure done again which was only done 5 years ago. I am now very afraid taht I might make the same mistake again and not get a second opinion on dhow I can proceed. I think I understand the probelm but I want another expert opinion with the few of chaning doctors. Unfortuanlety I am not from this country I come originally from Austria and live here since 6 years and have no experiance or knowledge “Whis is good, knows what they are talking about etc.” Can you give me some advice where to go and find a doctor which can lead me though this difficult time od decision. I live in Alton Hampshire and would like to get a consulations booked very very soon Thanks,

Can braces help to cure TMJ and correct teeth alignment?

Friday, February 12th, 2010
Q.
I have TMJ. My teeth used to be crowed, but I had the extra teeth removed when I was 20. I am now 41 and my teeth have shifted to fill in gaps from the previous teeth. I have a slight overbite and my teeth on the right side are angling inside my mouth. I have TMJ. Will braces help correct my teeth and possibly cure my TMJ? I have a mouth guard now. Will I need one with the braces? Thanks!,

Can I get braces wihout the use of train track braces?

Friday, February 12th, 2010
Q.
Im almost 21years old and my top front 4 teeth stick out further than the rest. MY dentist told me that I could have braces when I was younger but said it would be purely for cosmetic reasons and would be quite painful. For that reason I never had them, something I deeply regret. Is there any way of making my teeth look ‘normal’ without the train track braces as I feel im too old for them now and it would not suit for my line of work. I would really be greatful for your response. Many thanks.,
