As A 60 Year Old, Is Gum Recession Something I Must Live With?

Thursday, May 16th, 2013
Q.

Hi
I have had recently some gum problems
I am coming up to 60 years old next birthday and although i do not have any problems with my teeth i do have some gum shrinking at the bottom front part of my mouth,
is this a common problem or is there something i could have done as although it does not cause me any pain it is quite a uncomfortable feeling in my mouth?

I have had cleaning work done on my teeth but no gum work done as yet. I have read a little about gum recession and shrinking but obviously directly asking an expert like yourself would prove more beneficial.

Should I Ask My Dentist For Dental Implants?

Thursday, May 16th, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr Butt. I was wondering if you could help me with something? A few years ago I had a bottom molar removed and the one next to it was removed a few months after. Since then I’ve had a large gap there and nothing has been suggested to fill it, my dentist has never recommended anything. I’ve been looking into dental implants because I feel like my jaw on that side is slipping slightly due to no support. Do you think I need dental implants? Or am I being a little drastic? As I said my dentist has said nothing about the gap, I thought maybe a partial denture? But I am looking for something more permanent. Can you have implants to replace two teeth? I was led to believe it was for a whole row? Thanks.

Wednesday, May 15th, 2013

Or is there anything else you could suggest that would help me for now? I just need something  temporary until I can find away of getting over my fear of needles. Thank you very much for your time.

My Whitening Treatments Aren’t Working, What Should I Do?

Friday, May 10th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr, my problem is one of a cosmetic nature. I have recently done both in house and in office teeth whitening but there is no noticeable result
After a consultation with the dentist, I was given a pack of evolution3 home kit of 10 and 16% carbide peroxide which I used at home for two weeks with a custom made tray sent to me by the dentist. At the end of the second week, I went to the clinic for the in office whitening. In the office, an application of another higher % of gel was administered with my customer tray for about 30 minutes and that was it. I noticed that my teeth were still the same colour. This has frustrated me somewhat to be perfectly honest as there is still no noticeable result.

How Much Would It Cost To Get Porcelain Veneers?

Thursday, May 9th, 2013
Q.

Hi,
I have partial upper and lower plates and have had since I was 14. Now 58 I am seriously thinking about having porcelain veneers.I have two double back teeth and 3 smaller teeth on the bottom and 2 small one on the top. Can you please tell me how much the whole treatment from start to finish would cost. Obviously I know this wouldn’t be exact as I would need an appointment but a ball park figure would be good. Thank you..

How Much Do Dental Implants Cost?

Wednesday, May 8th, 2013
Q.

Hi i am 27 years old and have had to have three theeth removed two on one side seperated by a tooth and one on the other , what are my options as i don’t want anything removable as of my age would be embarrassing. it is two upper right and one upper left . i want to now have dental implants maybe to cover these gaps which are making me really depressed. it’s horrible as a young person to have these gaps in your smile and not want to open your mouth in public or to be ashamed of how you look so getting it fixed is literally the only option. please could you let me know what my options are and prices i would expect to pay

Wednesday, May 8th, 2013
Q.

Hi there, just a general question for you. I was wondering do you do free consultations to see what work I need done with my teeth? I have a tooth missing and I would like to know if I can have a crown fitted, also I am interested in veneers for my front teeth. My teeth have been a slight concern for a while now so now I have the money I’d like to think about my options with regards to getting my teeth looking healthy and fresh. Also how long does it take to get an appointment with yourselves? I would like an appointment as soon as possible to be honest. I look forward to your reply. Thank you.

How Much Would It Cost For Screw In Teeth?

Friday, May 3rd, 2013
Q.

How much would it cost for screw in teeth? My teeth are in bad condition and every time I get them fixed they just seem to be going the same way? The top ones are all rotting away, I can’t smile at anyone and I don’t even like speaking to people face to face in case they see my teeth, I work in a pretty busy shop and can’t even talk to the customers. Or other members of staff because of this, would be great if you could give me any information about screw in teeth and how to go about getting them a fixed. It really is hindering my day t day life and I just want a resolution to it because my confidence is taking a real battering at the minute. Hope you can help me somehow! Thanks.

Can You Improve On The Work Done By My NHS Dentist?

Wednesday, May 1st, 2013
Q.

I had composite veneers fitted over the front of my 2 front teeth by an NHS dentist. I’m not happy with the work done. One is bulky and cracked due to the fact that i have already had it repaired the other has a dent in where the glue is and you can see on both where they end and my old tooth is under. I’m so disappointed, i feel I have lost confidence when i smile. I had composite bonding over both teeth years ago and this was great you could not even tell. they looked so natural. I went to get them redone as it has been 8 years and this dentist said this was the only way they could now be done. I feel my front teeth are a mess with the composite veneers. Could your firm do anything? Maybe composite bond over them? Thank you.

My Tooth Fell Out Unexpectedly, What Do I Do?

Tuesday, April 30th, 2013
Q.

I have teeth that are partially falling out in the back, but I just had a tooth that didn’t know of fall out towards the front, up top today. I have also been noticing tiny dark spots in the creases of my bottom front teeth and its appearing to me that they may be rottening as well. Please tell me what I can do? I noticed this morning that the tooth that it could have been one of the causes of bad breath. Please help me to understand what is going on with my mouth, and if possible, what steps I need to take in order to make things better for my breath, teeth, and dental hygiene. I’m thinking about implants.
