i had my two front teeth bonded and did not like the result

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009
Q.
Hello, i recently had my two front teeth bonded and didn’t like the result. I should have done invislign but my budget would not allow me. Can bonding be removed safely without harming the real tooth? Only the acid solution was used no drilling. If so, how can you tell the bonding from the real tooth? I’ve been to three dentists and they all say removing bonding is real hard and afraid to hit the real tooth when removing bonding from the surface of my teeth. What should I do?

I am currently wearing Invisalign

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009
Q.
Hello ! I am currently wearing Invisalign, and am on tray number 11 out of 13. I am almost done with my case, and while my bottom teeth look perfect, my top teeth do not. The dentist shaved a couple spaces in between my teeth to create room for them to move, and while the spaces are not there very much, the teeth that were shaved are now different shapes. This makes me very self concious. My dentist recommended that I get Lumineers, but after paying 4000 dollars to have Invisalign, and the shaving required changed the shape of my teeth, there is no way I want to pay even more money to have Lumineers for something that my dentist ruined. My main question is, Is there any other way to fix the shape of my teeth WITHOUT getting veneers? I truly do not want veneers, even if money was not an option. If you could please let me know of a solution, that would be awesome. I can not ask my dentist because she will only push Lumineers on me. Thank You !

I had a chipped tooth repaired by dental bonding

Thursday, February 5th, 2009
Q.
In Novemeber of 2008, I had a chipped tooth repaired by dental bonding. A week later when I ate anything, I would get a sharp pain in that area. I went back to my dentist, and he said that my bite was off. That didn’t work. Today, two weeks after the so-called fix, I went in because the pain is constant. I cannot eat anything without experiencing pain. Anything that touches that area hurts like crazy. Could this have been caused by the drilling of my tooth? The slightest thing that touches my tooth hurts, and I can’t enjoy my food because of the pain. Please help!

can bonding on my two front teeth could be removed

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009
Q.
I really apperciate you taking the time to answer my questions for I am caught in a bind and don’t know how to get myself out. When I asked you if the bonding on my two front teeth could be removed you said yes because the solution is milder than lemon juice. I went back to my dentist and now they say if they were to take the bonding off, that they don’t know where the bonding ends and where my teeth begin. They also said my teeth will never have the shine they once had even if they removed the bonding? What should I do..Please?!

I have a large gap in between my two front teeth

Friday, January 16th, 2009
Q.
Hi I have a large gap in-between my two front teeth. This gap is genetic, it runs in the family and while I don’t want to close the gap completely I would like to reduce the size of it. I know a friend that didnt used braces for that, but his dentist put something at the back of the front teeth to keep them together. I dont really want braces as Im 20 years old now. but i would like to know what else can I do about it. I was thinking about bondings or something cheap. Thank you

i have a problem with my porcelain veneers

Thursday, January 8th, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr. Moore, Would you kindly provide me with information regarding a problem I am having with porcelain veneers? I had always had perfect dental health and never even one cavity. 8 years ago, I was talked into getting bonding on 6 anterior teeth just to make them a little larger. Then, I was told bonding had plastic in it and could cause health problems, so for that reason alone I removed bonding to replace with the veneers. Now, I find the dentist I picked is bankrupt from harming so many patients and it seems I have been quite mutilated. All my enamel was drilled off down to the dentin, and he so overprepped under the gum line that I have pain clear up my face. I’ve had steady pain for 3 months. If you bond to dentin won’t the chemicals in the cement more easily be able to get into my system than if I had enamel as more of a barrier? I know cement also bonds better to enamel than dentin. What can I do about the massive overprepping under the gums? Is there any possibility I can be whole again and live a normal life after this without having a time bomb in my mouth, always having to worry about inflammation, chemicals from the cement, bacteria, etc? I’m really quite devastated and fear it’s not really known yet just how damaging resin cements can be to one’s health. Is there anything holistic I could do? How would I go about finding researchers who are trying to regrow real enamel? Would redoing the veneers with some more “holistic” cement maybe help? I’d so much appreciate any information you could provide.

I have triangular gaps between my teeth owing to gum recession

Friday, January 2nd, 2009
Q.
I have triangular gaps between my teeth owing to gum recession. My gums are stable and I have no loose teeth. Can I have composite bonding to fill the gaps and if so, could you recommend a highly skilled dentist who I could go to for this procedure? Many thanks

I am looking for a long term solution to teeth whitening

Thursday, December 18th, 2008
Q.
I am looking for a long term solution to teeth whitening. I have brown patches on my front teeth. I think the tooth whitening bleach takes only two years, but I would prefer one that is permanent. What would you propose and how much will that cost?

does composite bonding ruin your enamel forever

Monday, December 15th, 2008
Q.
I want to thank you for answering my question so quickly..however when you said tooth bonding is reversible..did you mean that I could go back to my natural teeth? I heard that the acid solution they paint on your teeth before they apply the composite bonding ruins your enamel forever…and you could never go back. Is this true? Please tell me it’s not true!

My top front teeth have tooth erosion caused by fizzy drinks

Thursday, December 4th, 2008
Q.
Hi, My top front teeth have tooth erosion caused by fizzy drinks. They don’t look to bad at the moment, but you can notice if you look closly. My enamal is coming off the tops of my teeth and the bottoms look a little see-through. I am rather concerned about this and was wondering what the cost and procedure would be, without having to get porcelan veneers as i do not have the money for that.
