My front teeth have gaps and i was wondering if inman aligner or 6 month smile would work

Sunday, June 28th, 2009
Q.
Hi their I am wondering what treatment is best for me to get. My front upper 6 teeth have gaps between each tooth between 1-2mm each as a result have having 2 back teeth removed as a child my teeth seperated apart. I have never required any work done to my teeth since 16 and have been advised against removing healthy teeth for veneers. I work in a cosmetic industry and wearing braces is not an option. I was wondering if inman aligner or 6 month smile would work given my gaps are over 6 teeth. Thanks

can composite bonding be removed easily and will the underlying tooth look normal?

Saturday, May 30th, 2009
Q.
I had a small 1mm gap in my upper two front teeth filled with composite bonding a year ago. The results are great, and it looks really natural. However, I have recently decided to investigate braces as I have come to the conclusion that i would like to straighten my teeth. With this in mind, i would like my dentist to remove the composite bonding, so that a brace can be used to close the gap permanently. First, can composite bonding be removed easily? My dentist did the filling so well, it seems impossible to tell which is tooth and which is bonding? So, is it possible to remove it? And will the underlying tooth look normal? Also, when the filling was done, the bonding was polished and i can see a less shiny surface on some of the surface of my teeth. I will ask the dentist to polish this after the gap is revealed again, but If some bonding remains, does this effect how well fixed brace brackets would stay on? Also, when the brackets are removed at the end of treatment, would the bonding have stained, is this permanent, or would polising after the brackets are removed get rid of it? Thank you for your time.

why do you think my dentist was so rude to me regarding the suspicious dark spot on my teeth

Thursday, May 21st, 2009
Q.
Hi, I left my former dentist after she refused to bond a gap between my front teeth. She said that the hole was too large and by bonding it, my teeth would look extra big. I respected her decision but still wanted the gap bonded. I went to another dentist who bonded the gap, and started going to him regularly for a year. This dentist told me that I had a suspicious dark spot on my dental x-ray and referred me to an endodontics. Instead of seeing the endodontist, I went back to my former dentist and he was really rude to me. He told me that if I went to another dentist he would not see me again. Plus, while he was treating me, he hurt my mouth over and over again and when I would flinch or moan be told me that I was over reacting and that everything hurt me! This made me angry but I did not say anything. I kept thinking that as soon as I get out of this chair, I won’t come back! Why do you think he was so rude to me? Was it not my decision to seek another dentist after he would not bond my gap. By the way, the bonding looks great! Thanks

A couple of front teeth is slightly overlapping which one is the better solution veneers or invisalign

Thursday, May 21st, 2009
Q.
Hi Andrew, I have a couple of front teeth that slightly overlap. Four are rough edged at the bottom and they are not even in length. I have 6 teeth filled with white filler (not sure of technical term) due to damaged caused by brushing and other means. People say I have beautiful teeth – they’re pretty white due to having bleached them in the past. However, I think they could look better. Do you think that veneers would be too expensive for the little change I require? Would Invisalign be a better solution for me? Maybe you may have other ideas? Thank you for your time.

my cosmetic bonding just got chipped off would you recommend getting it replaced asap?

Monday, May 18th, 2009
Q.
Hello, I had some cosmetic bonding on a chip on the front right hand side of my upper 2nd premolar due to a fall 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately 3 days ago, exactly two weeks after it was bonded, it came out. Is it OK to wait 5 weeks until my next routine appointment with my dentist to get it replaced, or would you recommend getting it replaced ASAP? I am staying away from my hometown for another 4 weeks and a trip to visit my dentist is not really that feasible. Also have I got any other options – if it has fallen out so quickly it seems to me that that does not bode well for the future.

I am not sure whether i should go to a cosmetic dentist or to a orthodontist get my teeth done

Monday, May 4th, 2009
Q.
Hi, wonder if you could help me. I am desparate to get my teeth done and am not sure whether I should go to a Cosmetic Dentist or to a orthodontist first. I have four upper teeth capped (front) and my teeth are now protuding which I hate. This has happened over the last 10 years. I did wear a brace for a while but when I stopped I developed a gap in my front teeth. My upper teeth are not aligned as I had a side one removed at the age of 15 and then the caps were made bigger to take this into account. In addition, I my normal teeth are discoloured and I want to have perfect white teeth with no gap. Do I have to replace the caps and also have root canal treatment on the other teeth both upper and lower that are noticeable when I smile or is there some other way of whitening teeth without going through this expensive process. Also, what do I do about the upper protuding teeth. Should this get checked before I have any cosmetic dentistry.
