My teeth stick out because I sucked a dummy ’till I was 16, what can i do about this?

Tuesday, March 8th, 2011
Q.

Hi, my 2 front teeth stick out slightly because I sucked a dummy till I was 16. I’m 19 now and I’m doing modelling but I’m really insecure about my smile. Is there any other way I can have them 2 teeth straightened without having braces.? I thought about invisible braces but are they really necessary just for 2 teeth? thank you.

i have a veneer on my front tooth, is it still possible to get braces to help with my gaps even if i have the veneer? i wasn’t sure if the braces would ruin or brake it.

My son is finding it hard to eat and talk with his new brace, what should we do?

Monday, March 7th, 2011
Q.

My son had both top and bottom set of braces fitted 3 days ago and much to my shock, he was also fitted with a device that looks like a cage in the roof of his mouth. We weren’t advised by his dentist prior to the treatment that this would be fitted and now my son is traumatised as he cannot eat or talk properly with it fitted. He wants it removing. His dentist told us it was a standard piece of kit when having a brace fitted but as he did not prior advise of this, as he fitted something that wasn’t necessary?

I want to fix my teeth, is there a cost effective way of doing this?

Friday, March 4th, 2011
Q.

Im 17 and my top two canine teeth are really high up and are really out of line with my other teeth(they’re straight but just a lot further forward than the others).I need braces but my teeth don’t fit the NHS funding requirements which means i would have to go private(up to £3000),which my parents can’t afford. Is there any cheaper way of fixing my teeth? They’re so bad and they affect my confidence to the point where even my parents say i never smile.

My teeth have relapsed after past orthodontic work, would the Inman Aligner be a good solution?

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011
Q.

Hello Dr. Verma,
I used to wear metal permanent braces about 13 years ago. My bottom teeth are fine but my front right tooth has moved forward over the years and the tooth next to it moving behind it. i read about the inman aligner and thought this could perhaps be a solution. In the last couple of years i have had a wisdom tooth come through on that side and wondered whether you think this would stop me being able to have that type of treatment (the wisdom tooth doesn’t cause any problems).
i appreciate your help and time.
kind regards,

Could my braces have changed the shape of my face?

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011
Q.

I am 29yr old male. I have had braces for 1 yr now on lower teeth with 1 extraction-second molar on my left. This was to correct and straighten my teeth. I am noticing a thinning of my face – making it look narrow. Everyone keeps saying ‘you have lost weight’ but I have not. My ortho says it cannot be braces, as only jaw surgery can change my jawline. I am very worried. Is he right? What can I do? He is moving my back teeth to cover the gap from the extraction. Thank you.

Will the Inman aligner straighten my teeth?

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011
Q.

Dear Dr. Butt,
I would like your advice. I wore braces for 2 years 6 years ago, and I stopped wearing my retainers. Because of this, my beautiful straight teeth gave way slightly to the problem I had before braces.

My top 2 front teeth have protruded out again, a bit like a rabbit, and the 2 incisors on either side of them have moved forward a bit too (all on the top jaw). I have had consultations from orthodontists and I am asking you as well.

Will the Inman Aligner align my top 2 teeth with the rest of my top teeth giving me a straight top jaw again? Will it make my teeth straight again?

Kind regards,
