im 16 yrs old and i have discoloured teeth is lumineers the best solution for me

Q. I have a root canal that was done 16 years which is now discolouring. I’ve heard about Lumineers is this the best solution and if so how long do they last. I’ve tried teeth whitening but this didn’t work on this tooth.

A.

It is not uncommon for root treated teethto become discoloured over time. My only concer is that it may darken even more as time goes on. If you are considering having lumioneers- than the underlying tooth colour may not be able to be blocked out totally- and shine through. Porcelain veneers may be a better option. Discuss your concerns with your dentist before you go ahead with any treatment.

I’m totally confused whether which to choose having the veneer or lumineers done. I want to get as much info as i can before i actually go to a dentist for a consult. i have a regular dentist where i have all routine stuff like cleaning/filling, etc done. He suggested having a crown done which i didn’t appreciate much as its my right front tooth we are talking about and am really afraid of making a bad decision about my smile and regretting it the rest of my life. is it better to have veneer or lumineers done on a discolored tooth due to root canal treatment?
