What can be done about problem with bite?

Thursday, February 18th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I had braces when I was younger to straighten my front teeth. I had no teeth out. Since my wisdom teeth have come through they have crossed again and have a problem with my bite I keep biting my tongue and chewing my gum on the right side of my mouth. And some of teeth grind together, when I eat. I was wondering what can be done to help this I this is painful and how much it would cost?,

Can I get fans as I am still a teenager?

Thursday, February 18th, 2010
Q.
hey I’m 13 years old and I have been wanting to get fangs but the problem is have many expectations, like I want to still be able to talk normal and I want to be able to eat with out too much pain. I also dont want anything crazy or too distracting, I want something subtle. It is also VERY important that I can close my mouth ha ha. I want them to be permanent yet able to be undone like acrylic nails, permanent but not forever permanent. I just want them to last through my teenage years. However I do not want to regret it so the whole fixable thing is a MUST!!! My questions are 1 Can I get it done, 2 How much would it cost, 3 where could I get it done, and 4 Should I get it done?,

How long would I have to wear retainer?

Thursday, February 18th, 2010
Q.
Hi I was originally given a brace about 4 to 5 years ago but after a few months I stopped using it this was due to a few reasons including being scared of my orthodontist, but the main reason was that it was making me extremely irritable and agitated just after wearing for a few hours I would snap at people and want to just rip them out, as you can imagine this cause problems at home as no one understood how I was feeling and when i tried to explain just told me it didn’t make sense or look at me in a disbelieving way. I stuck it for as long as I could but I eventually got to the point where I could take it no longer, when I heard about the inman aligner I felt that this was the answer something that wouldn’t take to two years therefore allowing me to cope. I then read on the forum about a retainer after having the inman aligner and I was unsure whether this was a standard thing which everyone had or just certain cases I am also unsure as to how long on average would you have to wear this retainer? and is how i was feeling while wearing my brace something that happens with other patients? many thanks,

Should i opt for a bridge or implants?

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010
Q.
I have a temporary bridge from 7-10 and had bone graft 7 months ago in 8 & 9 done by an Oral Surgeon in preparation for implant placement. I have lost teeth 8 & 9 a long time ago and had a lot of gum recession. My prosthodontist has referred me to a periodontist because my gums on tooth # 7 has been really red the past few months. The periodontist said I need crown lengthening. She doesn’t recommend placing two implants in teeth 8 & 9 due to esthetic reasons. I am confused because my Oral Surgeon wanted to place implants. Should I just have the bridge done at this point? Thanks.,

Is it normal for crown to fit right?

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010
Q.
hello, 2 weeks ago i had a crown fitted by a dentist in Atherstone as my orginal filling had fallen out. Since then i have noticed that the crown does not fit the whole tooth,it does inside by by my cheek it only seems to cover the lower half, it has also been at time sensitive , a feeling of little shocks!!. It feels when i run my tonge over it that there it a small gap between where the cap and my own teeth meet., Does this sound right as i am not sure if it takes time to settle, I am very nervous at the dentist and would be grateful for any advice many thanks,

What treatment can I have to improve my smile?

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010
Q.
Hi, please help! I am 25 years old, and all my life I have had very poor teeth. I had an operation when I was 4yrs old and the anaesthetic, combined with the fact that my Dad had an enamel defficiency led me to have brown lines across my front teeth and all of the others slowly rotting away ever since I can remember. I had veneers put onto my front teeth when I was about 16 so they are not a huge issue, but the rest of them are terrible. I have had 3 extractions so far, and have several very heavy fillings and my teeth are crooked and squashed up. I have considered having a full set of dentures just to eleviate my pain and constant embarassment of having ugly teeth, plus limiting the huge amount of cost I would have to pay to have my teeth constantly repaired. All I want is to smile and laugh without having to put my hand over my mouth.,
