Q.
Hi, I’m a student at Scarborough Sixth Form college and am looking to get my teeth straightened and whitened. Iwas thinking of the “six month smile” method do you know roughly what this would cost and if it was avaliable free under NHS? As for the whitening of the teeth i was thinking of a home whitening kit because they are’nt that bad, which kit would you recomend? Thanks

my front tooth are smashed recently and i am very scared of dentist could you say anything

Thursday, May 21st, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr. Bohara… I recently fell and smashed my two front teeth. It was initially thought that both teeth required crowns, but upon further investigation one of them is so badly broken (in layers like an onion I’m told, above the gum line) that I’m going to lose the tooth completely and that an implant is my only option. I grew up in the UK and am absolutely terrified of dentists, have been my whole life so now as a 45 year old female, I’m now faced with what I consider the most devasting dental treatment imaginable. I had perfectly straight natural teeth prior to this and am worried because it’s a front tooth that it won’t be returned to the way it was as I also have to have a bone graft. I will opt for IV sedation but am having trouble getting my head around the fact that I won’t be asleep (I’d much rather be knocked out completely)-I don’t want to be aware of anything or feel anything. Can you offer any advice for me in terms of this being such a prominent tooth and also if I’ll feel anything. I appreciate how busy you are, but would be very grateful for for anything you could say to ease my mind. I would almost have rather broken my limbs than have this happen! Thank you very much for your time Dr. Bohara.

how much does it cost to have a full set of dental implant and how many visit to the dentist

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr. I am interested in getting pretty much a full set of implants My question is this and before I ask I know that prices vary depending on different factors but I would just like to have a ball park figure of what I am looking at price wise and about how many visit (in general) to the dentist will it take. I know there are a lot of variables please feel free to generalize. Thank you.

i am not happy with my dentist i need a smile makeover can you give my any advice

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hi there, and i could really use some good advice. I am hoping you can help me, my dilema is this…….. a good few years ago my dad who is a dentist put in 3 crowns on my incisors and my left lateral incisor and then a gap appeared between my 2 front teeth. I am a proffesional singer and my smile is everything to me so i was livid ! so i went to see a cosmetic surgeon near by and i have paid out a hell of alot of money to have my top 10 teeth done properly. This was september last year and i still have yet another wax up in !!! i have been 5 times to visit the lab to go over shape and size and there every time i take photots of teeth i like the look of and go over and over the shape but they cant seem to get it ? I am starting to get phobic of going back and having yet more injections and more wax up smashed out of my mouth its getting very frustrating and now one of the laterals is getting very tender and looks like a root canal might be in order. anyway the look i am going for is similer to katie prices l.a.a smile but my mouth is alot smaller and i have a small arch apparently ? so putting teeth the same size as hers just makes me look like a horse so i need get this sorted as its driving me crackers. My dentist seems insistent on using the same technition but said if all else fails he will go to the da vinci labs. I am thinking of saying its gone on long enough and to go to da vinci. what do you think ? any advice would be valuble to me. kind regards

i live on the costa del sol andrequire do you think crowns are better than veneers

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009
Q.
I live on the Costa del Sol andrequire extensive dental treatment including a number of dental implants. One clinic has quoted me a cost of 1600€ per implant. Another 900€ per implant. Is there any specific reason for such a differencein the price? I have had a consultation with the surgeon at one of the clinics who will carry out 2 extractions and insert 2 implants on the same day. Is this a recommended practice? in addition I wanted a number of porcelain veneers because my upper front teeth have been filled many times and now look unsightly. However I am being advised not to have veneers but instead to have 10 zirconia crowns at a cost of 580€ per crown. Do you think crowns are better than veneers. I also understand that prior to having the crowns I must have route canal fillings of all my teeth. Please advise.

some of my teeth missing and some are severley decayed and crooked what are my options

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009
Q.
I have had crooked teeth from being a child and due to a bad experience during sedation i refused to visit the dentist. this has been my greatest regret in life. i am now 32 and my teeth are severley decayed with many back teeth missing. my front teeth are extremley crooked and to say this has affected my confidence would be an understatement. i am now so depressed due to my appearence i rarely leave the house and my work is starting to become affected. i need to know what my options are and at what price as money is another obstacle that i will have to address.
