I went to the dentist with a sore front tooth but they couldn’t find anything wrong. What is your opinion?

Q.
Hi, I was at the dentist with a sore front bottom tooth. She couldn’t find anything wrong with it but it is still painful. I am 28 and she said it could be something to do with the jaw. She didn’t advise any further appointments. What is your opinion?,

I am in constant pain after many of my teeth were extracted. I am now have to use my front teeth to eat. Can anything be done?

Friday, October 15th, 2010
Q.
at my wits end, have changed dentists recently due to not being looked after properly-i am now in the unfortunate situation of having a big gap on my right side after extraction of a back upper and lower tooth and a new filling which has been redone on that side and still plays up, the other side had a large filling, upper and lower,am in almost constant pain when eating on both sides-…as i am forced to use my front teeth more they are also starting to hurt…help as im concerned that my dentist isnt doing a very good job as he assures me there is nothing wrong with the fillings on either side i am terrified i will end up with dentures at 37!,

Thursday, October 14th, 2010
Q.
I have recently undergone root canal treatment, since then I have had terrible pain in this tooth if any pressure is put on it at all . I have gone back to my dentist and she has not really given me a reason for this . She has given me antibiotics which on day 3 still haven’t made a difference. The tooth’s now more sensitive than it was before the treatment . Can you suggest anything as I go on holiday in a few days and don’t want to visit a Turkish dentist,

I need treatment for tooth gaps but NHS won’t pay for it. I can’t afford private treatment. What are my options?

Friday, October 8th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I’m 15 and I’m really self-conscious about my teeth and I hate smiling/laughing in front of people and always cover my mouth. I’ve got gaps between most of the teeth at the front, I went to seek advice from my local orthodontist but they said the gap wasn’t big enough for the NHS to pay for them so I have to go to a private orthodontist. But I really don’t want/can’t afford to pay thousands of pounds for them, what would you reccommend I do?,

There is a lump on the inside of my lip that is causing me grief. What would you advise?

Friday, October 8th, 2010
Q.
Hello. I recently visited my dentist and needed two lower molar fillings, and a deep clean. I asked the dentist if I had any loose teeth, gum disease etc, and they said no, everything was fine. They did X Rays of both sides of my jaw, and again, everything was fine. I was concerned about a lump that has appeared in my upper lip (on the inside), which has a long white vein running through. I consulted a surgeon who said that I have blocked salivary glands, but that these should unblock themselves in 3 months. I visited my doctor, who prescribed me a weeks worth of anti-biotics to clear them, but they are still there. My problem is that this swelling is so large and prominent that it brushes up against my top two teeth constantly. My top two front teeth are slightly misaligned (one pushes the other slightly backwards) and I think the constant pushing of the swollen inner lip against my top tooth is making the tooth slightly loose. It doesnt move on it’s own, but if I push my tongue hard against it and hold my finger on the other side, I can feel the pressure. I am now extremely concerned about losing my top tooth, and how to unblock these salivary glands (my bottom lip now has three small lumps in it too). I am 24 years old, and other than the two recent mollar fillings have never had any tooth trouble. I have recently quit smoking (after this all started) Please help!,
