I am still in pain after having a tooth extracted – why is this?

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011
Q.

I have had a tooth extracted, and have been in constant pain, my question is I have a cap at the back, is it possible that although the tooth is dead, there could still be a nerve that you can not see ? and if there is can it be operated on without loosing it.
Thanks.

Have you any advise on how to find am NHS dentist in Lincolnshire?

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011
Q.

hi, I am 37 and havnt been to a dentist since i was 12, as i had a bad experience . I have 2 bad teeth on the lower left ( not much left of them) and one in the same state on the llower right. I have another on the lower right that is half broken but rotten inside. This one is giving me alot of pain at the moment, but seems to be more than just nerve, its causing pain behind the eye, ear, and in roof of mouth. None of my local dentitsts are taking new patients, I cant afford to go private and there is no nhs walk in centre local to us. I am in grantham in lincolnshire, can you offer any help or advice please

My NHS dentist never picked up on problems found by a dentist I visited in Australia – what do you suggest?

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011
Q.

hi, I have just returned from visiting Australia. Whilst I was there I visited my parents dentist and he was horrified at the state of my teeth due to NHS care. I had been going every three months and 3 days before going to Australia. The UK dentist failed to find 4 fillings, one abcess which was so bad it needed extracting and the tooth next to it needed a huge filling and two loose front teeth which have now been bound! I am now terrified to go back to an NHS dentist and have a 10 year old daughter who they checked and found to have her lower teeth pressing on her upper gum. Anyway, I would like to have my teeth properly looked at to make sure that I do not have gum disease, to assess the loose teeth for possible implants and find out what else is wrong as the Australians ran out of time before we needed to return to the ‘front’. What would you suggest for me and my daughter. Does she need you or an orthodontist and how can I manage my teeth properly if the NHS is failing me so badly.
