I m 35, Is there any remedy for my shrinking gum?

Hello. I have worn false teeth for 35yrs. My bottom gum has shrunk so there is hardly any ridge for my dentures to sit on and I now look as if I don’t have bottom dentures in! Can anything be done to remedy this?

I had my dentures fitted which are uncomfortable plz advice

Hi I had my top dentures fitted in Feb 2009 since the day they where fitted they have never stayed in place i have had to use polygrip and they are so uncomforble i have been back to the denist and told them but they say there is no more they can do for me. Its that bad that i i just dont want to eat, and also i cant get on with the plate. its makeing me very unhappy, is there anyrhing else that can be done, and how much would the cost be.

What would be the best option for tooth decay apart from dentures?

Hi my teeth are really startin to decay and im scared to go to the dentist i dont want to have dentures is there anythin else i can have done on the nhs like crowns or bridge work or is that only for 1 or 2 teeth as i only have a couple of teeth that are actually ok and wot wld b the best option for me appart from the dentures?

Hi, I have been wearing a denture for 30 years, I have 3 front top middle teeth. My denture is a metal plate with 2 wires that wrap around my teeth. I have had 3-4 in total also tried acylic one at one stage of which made me keep heeving, couldn’t take to it at all. My denture now is very lose and irritating my palet and gums I expect and my dentist today suggests I have another acrylic one without wires as he doesn’t recomend the metal ones anymore. He has quoted me £198 (nhs). I was wandering if I would perhaps be able to have a Valplast one with some back teeth on as I haven’t had any back top teeth since I was 19 – 20yrs old. If I could I would rather put the £198 towards this as if I have another acylic one I may not be able to wear it again. I live in Birmingham. could you give me some idea of a price and maybe recomend someone In Birmingham. I am getting married in September this year and would love the confidence to smile. I currently have a false removable tooth in my front left tooth and my teeth are discolored! i wish to get my teeth whitened and my false front tooth made the same color as my teeth when there whitened. To do this i would have to have it replaced i assume. what are my options and what cost would this be?

Hi, i was wondering how long do you usually have to wait for dentures to be made? i got my 4 front teeth out in march and i just received them 2 weeks ago and they are terrible they look really bad not the colour of my other teeth…and they even have a gap at the side i told my dentist i wasn’t happy and now i have to wait another 2 weeks before i get seen and then i don’t know how long it will take again? Please help as i’m really depressed about the whole situation..

Can i get dental implant on my two front teeth instead of having partial dentures

I will soon be getting a partial upper denture. At first we had planned on keeping my front 7 teeth. I was looking forward to getting them capped. Especially front 2. Now I was told I can only keep 5 and one of my front teeth has to be extracted. A couple of questions. #1 What work should be done first the extractions or putting the crowns on teeth I will be keeping. Then do the extractions? #2 If they have to remove one of my front teeth why not take them both and put in implants. Then the partial could attach to them. If they can only save 5 teeth and want to crown them wouldnt it be better to have them leave 2 to crown and get 2 implants in front. I think it seem strange to have one front tooth attached to a partial and one capped dont you? Thanks..

Any other treatment then dentures for roof of mouth

I have never had good teeth and now have no top teeth left.I’am 35 now but have always had a fear of the dentist. I hate having dentures as they have taken away any confidence i used to have.Every time i go to the dentist i always seem to come away with dentures that have teeth that are bigger than which was on my old plate. I have been wearing the same plate for years which has no gum above the teeth and find that i cannot wear the full set of dentures they try to give me as they feel awkward and make me gag. Can you advise me if i have any other available options rather than dentures. i would love to have the roof of my mouth back again rather than a plastic one but understand this may not be optimistic. with thanks.
