Teeth grinding has worn down my teeth to gum level. Can implants be used to replace them?

Thursday, May 12th, 2011
Q.

Hello doctor,

over the years, grinding my teeth during the night has worn down all my upper teeth to gum level. Can implants be used to replace them, and if not, what alternatives do I have? The thought of false teeth doesnt appeal so would prefer something permenant.I am late fifties and in good health generally. So can you pelase advise me of what courses of treatment are available to myself ! This seems to cover what I wish to ask and I hope you have the time to answer my question. Best wishes and thank you very much.

Can you give me your opinion on the Carlson Bridge “Winged Pontic” procedure?

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011
Q.

Hello Dr Moore. Can you please advise on my situation. Do you know about or do the Carlson Bridge “Winged Pontic” procedure? I have a broken front tooth and it will be extracted. They want to do an inplant or cut my vital teeth to pegs, which I don’t care to have either done. In Hawaii I’ve heard of the Carlson Bridge “Winged Pontic” porcedure. In your opinion could you tell me if you think this would be a good alternative? I have gone to their web site at www.carlsonbiologicaldentistry.com to have a proper look. I have also youtubed carlson bridge and googled that too for more information.
Good information but I would like to know what you think?

Thank you for your time.

Would you say it is best to get implants or have teeth shaving done?

Thursday, April 21st, 2011
Q.

Hello.
I have had a metal bridge since i was 15 years old and i recently visited my dentist in order to replace this. The bridge is of my upper three front teeth and is supported by a metal pin on the right hand side and a shaven tooth on the far left. when my dentist began to take the old bridge out the pin came away with it due to an abscess and the fact that the root had rotted away. An xray was performed before hand, however the dentist presumed the area around the pin was in fact shadowing. They now say that i have two options the first being implants at a cost of £2200, do you feel this is reasonable? The second being shaving down more teeth leaving me with six false teeth as they say the bridge can not support itself with just the two teeth. I am only 27 and i original lost my two front teeth due to an accident that was not my fault. £2200 is a lot of money when you are looking to save for a house and a wedding. So i guess i just wanted to know what your advice would be and if you had a couple of quotes for both the implants and the bridge. Thank you for taking time to read my email and i look forward to hearing back from you.
