Would you say it is best to get implants or have teeth shaving done?

Q.
Hello.
I have had a metal bridge since i was 15 years old and i recently visited my dentist in order to replace this. The bridge is of my upper three front teeth and is supported by a metal pin on the right hand side and a shaven tooth on the far left. when my dentist began to take the old bridge out the pin came away with it due to an abscess and the fact that the root had rotted away. An xray was performed before hand, however the dentist presumed the area around the pin was in fact shadowing. They now say that i have two options the first being implants at a cost of £2200, do you feel this is reasonable? The second being shaving down more teeth leaving me with six false teeth as they say the bridge can not support itself with just the two teeth. I am only 27 and i original lost my two front teeth due to an accident that was not my fault. £2200 is a lot of money when you are looking to save for a house and a wedding. So i guess i just wanted to know what your advice would be and if you had a couple of quotes for both the implants and the bridge. Thank you for taking time to read my email and i look forward to hearing back from you.
A.
It sounds like the implant would be your best option, as shaving down other teeth will only cause more problems in the future. £2200 sounds very reasonable so check that everything is included before your start treatment

Hi, I’d like to have my two front teeth shortened, if it is at all possible (I’m aware that it depends on a few factors). Even though they’re not particularly big, I’ve always wished they were smaller and I know for a fact it would greatly improve my confidence in smiling (even generally!) if they were. If someone could get back to me I’d appreciate it. Many thanks,

hi i would like to enquire about somne cosmetic dentistry, around 5 years ago I had a crown fitted onto one of my upper central incisors on the nhs, however the crown made was created from using an impression of my tooth which had been composite bonded many times over several years (as i first damaged the tooth aged around 9 and then didnt get the crown fitted till the aged of 14/15) and so the naturall shapeof the tooth disappeared and now to meyou can tel that it is not natural. next year i will be interviewing for full time jobs after finishing uni and want to make a good impression, at the moment the way my front teeth look affects my confidence in meeting people and so i would be very appreciative of perhaps a consultation to discussany option about what i could have done to give me a more natural smile. Many thanks

i broke my upper Central incisor off at the gum (the root is still there) 4years ago and had it re-built but its after breaking again and now that iam 18 i am considering seeking a more permenant solution such as a dental implant but i would like some more information such as: how long do they take to complete?? are they covered by the medical card?? how much should i expect it to cost?? (if not covered by medical card) are they a permenant solution?? what types of implants are available?? (i would prefer a permenantone but i am open to suggestions) can the tooth root be removed and the implants be put in the same day?? are they done under local or general anesthetic?? if they are done under a general anesthetic is an overnight stay involved?? thank you for your time, regards

Hello! I have recently implanted (less than a week ago) a ceramic braces for my upper jaw. My doctor told me the activation of the braces is happeningwithin a month of the implant. The problem is that i am currently in Romania and in a month i will be in the UK. Is there any chance you can activatemy braces and supervise my evolution and the whole process? How much wouldcost me a monthly consultation? Thank you!

Hi, i have 2 big teeth at the front (upper) that i feel need filing down, to ensure they are the same size teeth as the rest? Could i have a free consultation to discuss this, or you may suggest i need something else doing?
