Is this a good choice for Implants rather than bridges or dentures, and are there other choices out there?

Monday, March 30th, 2009
Q.
Hi, i am 33 years old and my x-rays shows my lower jaw wisdom teeth need to be removed on both left and right side as they are growing into my molers. Also my second molers ( ones next to pre-molers)have abcesses for a number of years, the dentist says they need to be extracted too as infection are still present in the root with some of the bones eaten away. Once they are removed, i was advised to have implants otherwise all i have is a independent rear molar on both sides and there be a risk of them becoming loose with no surrounding tooth for support! Is this a good choice for Implants rather than bridges or dentures, and are there other choices out there? My quote for the implants was about £4000, at the moment i am not sure this is for per implant or for the both implants, what is the normal cost of one implant all inclusive? around £2000 seems to be popping up on websites. Hope you can put my mind at ease as forking out £8000 is not an easy task!

Will I be able to have two front teeth again? Can the gap be opened up again to fit two front teeth? Can my lateral incisors ether side be used to create a bridge for four teeth?

Monday, March 30th, 2009
Q.
Hi Can you help. I’m 31. healthy teeth no fillings. I had both of my upper central incisors knocked out in my late teens. One was saved but the gap wasn’t filled. Unfortunately the gap got smaller. Over time the saved tooth had to be extracted, as the gap is only wide enough for 1 front tooth I had a Maryland bridge fitted. I have had this now for 4 years. The dentist that did the work assured me if the bridge came out he wouldn’t charge me because it was part of the treatment. When I had to return to have it re-fixed he charged me and said he would continue to charge!! This caused conflict and I haven’t returned since. I am very apprehensive to trust a new dentist and quite embarrassed about my situation. Will I be able to have two front teeth again? Can the gap be opened up again to fit two front teeth? Can my lateral incisors ether side be used to create a bridge for four teeth? Sorry if it sounds complicated Any comments would be appreciated Thanks

I have bridges and veneers and I want my teeth whitened

Monday, March 30th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I have 2 false teeth, one at each side of my 2 front teeth, its a bridge, fitted to the back of my 2 front teeth. However the bridge was making my 2 front teeth appear darker, so my dentist put 2 veneers on my 2 front teeth aswell, to make them appear brighter. But what i wanted to ask was, i’d like to have a whole brighter whiter smile. And i know you wouldn’t be able to make my veneers whiter, unless i got new ones. Do you think i should get implants instead of these two veneers on both sides of my 2 front teeth, because then i won’t need the veneers on my front teeth, which will be good, as food keeps getting stuck inbetween the veneers. And i keep thinking my 2 front teeth will rot or somethin, because i’m not brushing them. But dentist says they’re fine. Do you have any clinics in Greenock, or near Greenock?

My bridge is loose is there something that can be done to retighten it

Monday, March 30th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I recently had treatment in thailand – i live here- and had poor fitting crowns and bridges put on and taken off. rather than temp cement i think normal light cured cement was used but with film of vaseline applied to the teeth first. one two piece bridge was cemented yo one anchor – no tooth on other side of bridge unit for additional anchorage. The crowns and bridges are still appalling but in the many times the 2 piece bridge was hammered off one aoccassion it was so hard to get off I had to stop the dentist becvause he lterally loosened it in its socket. Almost extraction by hammering!!! The tooth is still bridged and still loose. can you tell me what to expect, what the real result of this bad denistry is/will be, and what I need to do to allow it to re-tighten…. assuming there is something that can be done and it can re-tighten. Your help would be greatly appreciated as apart from the language difficulties here, I also face dismissal, and basically large helpings of BS! from the dentists here.

My bridge has become loose what are my options in 65

Sunday, March 29th, 2009
Q.
Please advise me: My upper back tooth has a bridge attached to it and it has become loose and causing me pain. If it comes out then I loose the two teeth. To have an implant my Dentist has quoted £2K, which although I find expensive I am also worried as I have heard that one can suffer pain for months after, is this true?. I am sixty five and have always cared about my teeth and appearance, and I must admit I have always told my Dentist I never want false teeth, which I don’t. But I really don’t know what to in this case, do I have the implant and save both teeth or do I have two false ones in their place. Or is there another way this could be dealt with? I will have to make a decision very soon, as I am having a lot of discomfort. Thank you for your feedback which I await with anticipation. kind regards

In my case which one is better a bridge or an implant?

Sunday, March 29th, 2009
Q.
I need some advice. I have been working overseas for over 9 years and had my teeth treated by doctors all over the place. I am now in Moldova and in need, unfortunately again, of some dental treatment for what it was an old bridge over one tooth missing. I now have two teeth missing and the doctors here have been giving me different advice. One doctor suggested 2 implants adn to take the back/wisdom tooth out, although is not giving me any disconfort. I am also mindful that I don’t think he assessed the density or structure of my jaw bone. The other doctor suggested a new bridge and to keep my wisdom tooth. I am in Moldova for another 4 months. If the healing process takes longer I am stuck and will have to consider coming back here .. but on the other hand I do not want to go for a new bridge if implants are a better option for my health. I am in a bit of a pickle and I would be very grateful for your advice. Being away from my family and friends is hard engouh, and now having teeth problems in a foreign country is stressing me out even more.. Many thanks in advance for your time and listening/reading to all this,
