Saturday, October 3rd, 2009
Q.
Hi i wrote to you before, i have porclain fused to metal crowns, and the metal is starting to show slightly. One of my tooth with a crown had a root canal and has changed colour. I did enquiry into the services you provid, however i am worried about getting my teeth re-caped maybe due to horror stories i heard e.g a root canal tooth can be broken of when taking off the cap, this is really putting me off else i would have book a consultation with you to get all porclain crowns a while back. Is there a likely hood that my tooth that is gone grey under the cap may break of in the process of removing the cap please let me know, as this is the only thing putting me of with having a consultation with you… Regards

I get my front tooth filled but it is very sensitive why is this?

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009
Q.
I have my front tooth filled about 3weeks ago and ever since then my front tooth is very sensitive to cold and hot items when it touch the front tooth. why is this? Also, I had my back tooth filled about 3wks ago and it constantly hurts me. my whole left side of my face and jaw hurts and my head hurts. my dentist says the pain should go away in about two weeks that the filling needs to settle. My tooth is so sensitive. and when the dentist did the filling it was done real sloppy. there was filling overlapping on my tooth and it was very coarse. I had to ask for the filling to be cleaned up from the sides of my tooth and have it smooth out and this was the case for my front tooth also. very slappy. could this be the reason why my front and back tooth hurts so bad.

Is my jaw pain unconnected to the maryland bridge?

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009
Q.
Hi, My upper right canine tooth grew in the wrong direction in my teens and as a result this and my upper right incisor had to be removed. I had a brace on my upper teeth for about 18 months and at 15 was fitted with a maryland bridge between my central incisor and 1st premolar. I was advised this would last for about 10 years and then would then need some sort of perminant replacement. I am now 25 and still have the maryland bridge. Unfortunately this has forced my bite out of line and causes me to grind and clentch my jaw creating swelling and pain in my temporomandibular joint. I have seen several different orthodontists who have recomendended differnt things – I was also saw a TMJ specialist who suggested an £800 head scan and wearing a splint at night, he also said my jaw pain had nothing to do with my teeth at all. Is my jaw pain unconnected to the maryland bridge? And if so would it be better to have the maryland bridge replaced with a more modern appliance or try and sort out the jaw problem first?

How do you complain to a doctor like this without seeming rude?

Friday, October 2nd, 2009
Q.
Dear dr. this is my second attempt in asking a question, the last time i think i put in the wrong email address. my question is basically this. the other day i had a 5 tooth permanent bridge fitted, with sedation. on first glance before leaving the clinic it looked fine, however, since coming home i have noticed a couple of things that are wrong with it. i paid 3,000 pounds in total for my treatment, the dentist who performed all my treatment has 46 years experience and a good rep, how do you complain to a doctor like this without seeming rude? i obviously want him to correct the work. yours desperately

One side of my mouth has a hole and missing teeth could you advice

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009
Q.
I have had dental problems from a young child, this has caused me to develop a fear of the dentist, most of my teeth which I still have are crowns, and fillings a few of my front teeth are fake too. I currently only eat on one side of my mouth as the other side has a hole and a tooth missing. the side which I am eating on also has a hole, and the teeth are in a bad condition food always gets stuck in it People are always wondering why it takes me so long to eat my food but Im too embarrassed to say its my teeth. I tried having a denture fitted to replace the lost one but it was uncomfortable, kept moving and food kept going under it. Im so scared to go to the dentist me not being able to eat is having implications on my diet. Im so scared I dont know what to do I dont want to have a set of full dentures by the time im 40 which is the direction im heading im 29. The amount of treatment I would need would cost me so much money which I do not have at the moment. What do you advise please help kind regards
