How much would it cost to have two teeth straightened?

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010
Q.
Hi i have had braces before just over a yr ago. My teeth are straight but there’s two teeth that are slightly crooked. Very minor. I know I would need an appointment for a quote, but roughly how much would it cost to straighten. What’s the cheapest it could possibly be in nest case scenario. I’m 18 if that makes much difference. Thankyou,

Q.
Hi, I Joined a nhs dentist not long before the birth of my son 3 months ago, I was on a waiting list for a very long time and had a problem with one of my teeth and had to seek emergency treatment, I was given a temp filling which was supposed to be filled in properly but before i managed to get into a dentist the tooth broke so now i have a gap with the root still in my mouth, It isn’t painful but the gap is really knocking my confidence as its on show when i smile, I have a maternity excemption certificate and was wondering if i was be able to get the root removed and a false tooth at no cost? My daughter has experienced nausea and can sometimes be sick since getting braces. Are they the cause?

Friday, November 12th, 2010
Q.
My daughter had metal braces fitted begin. of October. She has had nausea every morning since and can often be sick. Could the braces be causing it – they are not uncomfortable?,

Would a lingual frenectomy stem any further gum recession and how will I know if it’s a success?

Friday, November 5th, 2010
Q.
I am 44 years old and have severe bone loss & recession of the anterior 4 teeth, bottom jaw. I consulted w/a periodontist, and he took measurements of recession. He recommended doing a lingual frenectomy to avoid further recession. How effective is this procedure for preventing further recession, and how long will it take to know whether it was a success or not, and if I will need a graft? Does it make a difference whether the procedure utilizes a blade vs. a laser (besides bleeding, need for stitches?) What is the typical cash cost for this procedure? Thanks very much for your assistance.,

I keep getting infections and needing apicoectomies after breaking my teeth when younger. Should I get implants or just keep taking antibiotics?

Thursday, November 4th, 2010
Q.
Hi, please can you help. I am a 43 year old female and broke my front teeth when I was 8. Since then I had have 2 lots of crowns on my front 4 teeth and although I have looked after them, I have had extensive problems for approx 20 years with frequent abscesses and have had 5 apicetomy’s over the years. I now have another abscess on my front teeth and have been advised that no further apicetomy’s can be performed and I have the options of either a plate, a bridge or implants. I understand the best option would be implants (albeit very costly), and have been advised that most of my gums would be lost, so astechically they will not look as good as they do right now. How can I be sure though, that after having them taken out and having either implants or a bridge, that another infection will not occur, since 5 apicetomy’s have not stopped subsequent infections and that this would affect my implants or bridge and I may be left with just the option of a plate, which I certainly do not want. If infection is likely to occur again (I have also had abscesses lanced inbetween apicetomys, so have had a LOT of infections), would an option be to leave the teeth as they are and take frequent courses of antiobiotics to keep the infection at bay, since I am in no pain and they look very good. I do not want to pay out a lot of money, only for an injection to re-occur and the implants/bridge be affected. Please can you advise?,
