My hygienist removed lots of plague on lower front teeth, exposing gum and black marks on my lower teeth. Spittal ? is coming through my lower teeth now when i talk, making me very self conscious, also with the gum recession, and the black marks which look like gaps, i need someone to help advise me on the next step. I am trying to stop smoking as i know this is not doing my gums any good. I take corsidil and eurofril mouth was every day, and gently brush my teeth, – no more scrubbing up and down. I hope i do not loose any lower teeth.

I had a plate when i was a teenager, and it wasn’t as effective as braces would have been. I am now considering lingual braces or invisalign to “complete the job”. Is one of these treatments more effective than the other?

I have an overbite, I would like straight teeth but my orthodontist said I would need an operation to correct my jaw to make his happen he explained that the whole process could take 3 years, im 22 now and really don’t want to go through 3 years of treatment, is there anywhere I could have cosmetic dentistry done to make my teeth straight?

I have very very bad teath i have a set of dentures

Hi I have very very bad teathi have a set of dentures holding 5 teath at the top with one missing i also have very badly decayed and rotting teath top and bottom i have been scared of dentsists since i was 15 im now 31 and had a bit of a dentistry nightmare i am soon going to have a baby with my new girlfriend and would love to be able to smile / eat and just generally not worry about the pain any more its been on going pain for about 4 years i feel its time i do something is this available on the Nhs many thanks

If a patient said to you “My bite has changed. My front bottom teeth touch the back of my front top teeth before the rest of my teeth touch. When I close my mouth now (in order for my back teeth to touch), there is a lot of pressure created where my front bottom teeth are pressed up against the backs of my front top teeth. My bottom front teeth press up against the backs of my top front teeth, and inhibit me from closing my mouth. These symptoms have developed within the passed few months. ” What would you recommend? I had a dentist tell me that to treat this you had to file down the backs of my top teeth, and he also filed down the tops of my bottom teeth (even though he said my bottom teeth were not going to be touched). This did not help at all, and now my bottom teeth look slanted and uneven, and are now sensitive to cold temperatures. Also, I feel like the condition has worsened, and this deviation in my bite has only gotten worse as time progresses.

I have booked an apointment to have my teeth whitened. But since have been looking at reviews on the internet and I am now concerned about the procedure and results. Alot of people have been very disappointed with the results and suffered severe pain during after the procedure! Some one commented on lasting for over a year! I really am questioning wether this is the right thing to do!

Hi iv jus brushed my teeth and noticed there are two dull patches on my front teeth,it looks like the enamel has come away and feels slightly rough when i rub my tongue along them. is this permenant or can my dentist polish them smooth? im worried thier going to be porus to staining now? thank-you rachel x

I recently had a bridge made for the top of my mouth

I recently had a bridge made for the top of my mouth, it was an eleven unit bridge supported by 5 teeth. The problem is the bridge has overbite also it is lopsided because my gums have recided on one side. This is the second bridge i have had made because the first had worse overbite and was too big and did not fit my mouth properly.I am now worried that the 5 teeth supporting the bridge (2 front, canine and 2 back teeth) will get too much stress and will have problems. Do you think i would be better just crowning them and going back to what i originally had so if problems did arise the teeth could be worked on. This has been going on 9 months now and i am getting very wary. I just want to go back to what i had, but my dentist says that having crowns on my front teeth wont last i will be better with the bridge, but the bridge is wrong and 11 units held by 5 teeth now seems wrong. Are their any strong porcelain crowns available and what is your opinion on how to proceed. I am pulling my hair out. Thank you
