My bottom teeth do not need braces but my top teeth do, can this be done?

Thursday, March 25th, 2010
Q.
Hi. I am 28 and thinking of getting fixed braces to correct my overbite of approx 9mm. The orthodontist I have seen thinks he will be about to get it down to around 3mm with fixed braces. My bottom teeth are straight so I do not think I will need braces on them. Would you always advise to have both top and bottom done? Thanks.,

I have emetophobia, can you recommend any procedures for me?

Thursday, March 25th, 2010
Q.
Hello. Because I have one tooth on my top set of teeth that is back much further than the rest, my dentist recommended I get a brace. I visited the orthodontist a few months ago and I didn’t have a great time. Im extremely nervous when it comes to dentistry, I have emetophobia (fear of vomitting) which makes me extremely anxious. At the orthodontist I retched when having moulds taken and it completely shook my confidence. I also just dont feel that braces are for me, my bottom set of teeth and the left side on the top are completely fine. Are there any procedures you think would be more suitable for me? Thanks.,

I still have gaps in my teeth after wearing braces, any advice?

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010
Q.
Hi Doc, I am 28 yr old female from India. Last year I underwent orhodontic treatment with white wire and clear brackets. Now after 1 year, the dentist has removed the braces. But i still see gaps between all upper teeth except front 6 teeth. The dentist has put me on clear retainers and said that the gaps will go on their own in long haul. From front my smile looks good but from side it shows gaps which is not appealing to me. Doctor please suggest what you think will be right. Coz in other ppl who have undergone orthodontic treament I havent seen such gaps. Thnx in advance,

Hi, im 26 years old and one of my front upper teeth stick out quite a lot. i wore a removeable brace when i was 14 for a while and had 5 teeth removed, die to circumstance i never carried on with treatment but it did help, where now it looks like my tooth could bejust pushed back about 4mm and it would be more in line. (before my other teeth where behind it) Am looking to get it fixed now and wonderedwhat the options where, and if braces, what type do you think? Thanks very much,
