I have emetophobia, can you recommend any procedures for me?

Q. Hello. Because I have one tooth on my top set of teeth that is back much further than the rest, my dentist recommended I get a brace. I visited the orthodontist a few months ago and I didn’t have a great time. Im extremely nervous when it comes to dentistry, I have emetophobia (fear of vomitting) which makes me extremely anxious. At the orthodontist I retched when having moulds taken and it completely shook my confidence. I also just dont feel that braces are for me, my bottom set of teeth and the left side on the top are completely fine. Are there any procedures you think would be more suitable for me? Thanks.,
A. To decide what treatment options would be best it is a good idea to book and appointment. It may be that there may be another cosmetic proceedure that would suit you but this could only be determined by looking in your mouth. At and appointment explain to the debtist about your emetophobia and how your confidence has been knocked since having moulds taken. Moulds can be taken in different ways to help reduce the chance of you wretching. If you wish to make an appointment for a free consultation please do hot hesitate to contact us at [email protected].
