Would Veneers or Lumineers be able to hide flurosis stains on front teeth?

Q. Hi Dr. Verma I have moderate to severe florosis on my 6 front teeth. I was just wondering whether lumineers would be able to cover the florosis stains because the flourosis is very white and my teeth are fairly dark. Or whether traditional veneers would be better. Thank You in advance,
A. Dear Enquirer, Fluorosis is a type of internal staining. Teeth whitening treatments do not generally assist in disguising the staining and therefore the only way to mask the appearance of these teeth would be with veneers or lumineers. With veneers, we need to minimally prepare the facial surface of the tooth which allows us to create a very natural looking smile. Lumineers are placed on top of the tooth and therefore can add bulk to the tooth which sometimes look unnatural. Sunita
