My tooth still hurts after an accident, is my best option root canal treatment?

Monday, June 6th, 2011
Q.

Hello Mark, how long can it take for a damaged tooth ligament to settle. My front tooth does not seem to be recovering since the impact , which is almost four weeks ago. I still can’t bite down on it. Do you think Root Canal Treatment is my better option? X Rays show no sign of damage to the roots.
Could the pulp still be damaged? The tooth mostly hurts when I bite on it but does throb on and off through the day. thank you for your time

I have been advised that metal crowns last longer than porcelain crowns, is this correct?

Saturday, December 4th, 2010
Q.

My boyfriend has to have root canal treatment and his dentist has offered him a metal coloured crown. I think a natural tooth colour would look better because he already has a large metal crown on the other side but his dentist advises him that the metal lasts longer. Is that correct?

Is it possible to have a procedure corrected free of charge if it was not the agreed treatment?

Friday, November 19th, 2010
Q.
I’ve recently (3 days ago) had porcelain veneers on my front two teeth as the bottoms were chipped and the fillings kept breaking off. The dentist fitted porc. veneers as a solution, but filled the gap I didn’t want filled and the teeth are shorter than originally, and now I have a speech impediment as I can’t pronounce the letter F without sounding like Daffy Duck. What are my rights in being able to have these changed at no fee?,

Is it normal to see black dots on the inside part of my newly fitted crown?

Thursday, November 18th, 2010
Q.
I had a porcelain crown with gold on the inside, fitted to my upper molar. When I got home I noticed 2tiny blackish dots on the inside part of the crown, near the bottom. Since it’s not on the outside visible side of the crown I don’t care about the appearance. I am very worried that the dentist perforated the surface(yet it feels completely smooth) while attempting to fit it better to my mouth and bite line, and therefore weakened the crown. When I notified her of this she said that it was just the gold part peeking through and not to worry. I’m afraid she is not being entirely truthful. None of my other crowns have this marking. Help!!,
