im 15 and i have 3mm diameter gap between my front teeth and is the treatment free on nhs

Q. Dr Rob Tennet I had a large gap inbetween my top two front teeth which I had braces fitted on the NHS. This tretment continued for about 10 months then I wore a “night retainer” for a while yet I cannot remember the length but I went through 2 diffrent ones as they had “worn out”. Yet since being told I no longer needed to wear it my front gap has returned although it has remained smaller than before due to a fretescamy operation(removal of large muscle above front incisors). I now the gap is still fairly large with about 3mm diameter. Will I be able to return to the orthodontist without needing to pay for the teeth to be corrected as my family will struggle to afford them? Any advice or information will be gladly appreciated. Many thanks  (Curretly 15 going on 16 years old)

A. If you are under 18 NHS treatment is free IF you need it. so the orthodontist will need to assess you. If you do get retreated continue with retainers for life. sometimes after a few years a weekly nighttime wear to confirm no change in fit (therefore tooth position ) is ok. but if you get a 1mm gap opening you know its going wrong.
