How Much Would It Cost to Have My Tooth Evened Out?

Tuesday, April 28th, 2015
Q.

Hello. I have one uneven tooth in my mouth and I would like to know how much will it will cost to get it shaped up to look like the rest? It is just one long tooth in the front, the rest of my teeth are just fine. I just want that big tooth where you have the two big teeth in the front, but the one to the right is a tad longer then the others. I just need that to be shaped up and even like the rest of them. I would like to know the cost?

How Can I Sort Out the Surface Scratch On My Tooth?

Tuesday, April 28th, 2015
Q.

Hi. I noticed a faint surface scratch on my front tooth. I’m panicking that it’s going to crack or something. Is this normal? It’s hardly visible and  it’s very faint. Could any toothpaste help or could it strengthen and disappear on it’s own? Also, someone told me that it could just be a natural line of the tooth. I’m very conscious of my teeth so hopefully I’m just worrying about nothing. I hope you can put my mind at rest. Thanks.

Is My Husband’s Dental Issue an Aesthetic One?

Monday, March 30th, 2015
Q.

Hi. My husband’s 3rd tooth from the front has come out, it was a crown. The NHS dentist said he can’t have a bridge on the NHS as it’s asthetic – you can see it when he talks and smiles and it’s changing his speech. Is this correct as band 3 on the NHS says bridges are included. Surely it’s up to him if he feels it’s affecting him, and he pays for dental treatment? Can they fob him off saying it’s an aesthetic thing? It is at the front so he feels it’s noticeable and also the one next to it could lean in the gap. Thanks.

Should I My Tooth Be Realigned To The Central Line Of My Face?

Friday, June 21st, 2013
Q.

I am 16 years old student residing in Saudi Arabia.
It has been 1yr and 3 months
since i got my braces. I had extraction of 3 teeth ,1 incisor in the upper left jaw and the 2 incisors in the lower jaw.

After filling the gaps, the dentist now says that my front tooth is not in alignment with the central line of my face. He suggests shifting the teeth again. As far as i know, it was in alignment before i got my braces.

My question is, is it necessary that i should get my tooth aligned to the central line of my face??
Will it make any difference if i don’t get it done??

Another thing that keeps bugging me is whether after getting out my braces my right will be straightened for the rest of my life because i have heard many people saying that the teeth returns to its original position after getting off the braces.

My Front Tooth Has Been A Nightmare For The Past Ten Years, Am I Eligible For An Implant?

Monday, June 10th, 2013
Q.

I have been reading “guidelines for selecting appropriate patients to receive treatment with dental implants guidelines” and it was just an email for some advice or to ask who I could seek advice from.

I had an accident when I was about 10 years old that caused me to loose my front tooth. This tooth was then put back into place and I received antibiotic treatment for a long while. I had a veneer put into place when I was 16, however due to recurrent infection my dentist at the time told me that my body was rejecting the tooth And it would need to be replaced with an implant in the future. Since the age of 13/14 I go through recurrent episodes of pain and visible abscess’ which the dentist had stopped giving me antibiotics for as he said they wouldn’t work. I recently fainted at work and broke my veneer and after visiting my dentist I was told that he could replace it with a crown but the root of the tooth has eroded that much I’ve probably got a year to two before it will fall out or need to be removed.

I wanted to know if/ where I would fit into the implant guidelines and who to talk to as my dentist has not been very helpful. I am only 21 and this has been an on going issue since the age of 10 which I would love to just be over.

Am I Being Overcharged For Implants?

Thursday, January 17th, 2013
Q.

I have a broken front tooth which was previously root filled many years ago. I broke the tooth whilst biting onto a hard fruit. I have seen many dentists who have said that a simple crown cannot be fitted as the tooth has broken to the jaw line…or something along that route. I am looking or a more permanent solution to bridging or dentures, and want to have an implant placed. My local dentist has this facility but are charging £2500 for the whole procedure, fixtures and fitting. I am a very nervous patient who absolutely hates going to the dentist. I have looked online and it seems my dentist surgery is asking for a lot of money compared to many sites who stare implants can be placed from £1000. I would like to know how much is a reasonable price for a front tooth implant to be put in place. please do help me. Thank you kindly

My front tooth has shifted before I got my Essix retainer. Now it won’t move back. What can I do?

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013
Q.

Hi. I had adult braces and when they came off, I had to wait five days to receive my essix retainer. In this time, my front tooth has shifted forward whereas it was totally straight when braces were removed. I have been wearing essix retainer religiously but the gap is exactly the same and shows no sign of closing…what can I do? I’m so paranoid the gap will keep opening. Will th essix retainer not push the tooth straight back into position? My impressions were taken the same day my braces came off so should be perfect. Also the essix only came halfway on teeth and they still don’t cover all the teeth and there are spaces between the bottom of the front teeth and the essix retainer. About 3 or 4 millimetres. I have been using aligned chewies but to no avail. How do I know if the tetainer is fitting me properly and doing its job. Also is it necessary for the retainer to cover all the front teeth? Even if my retainer for bottom of teeth to bottom of retainer, the top of my teeth would still be exposed……should this cover the gums too? Please help

My dentist has suggested root canal treatment and a crown for my twisted tooth, is this correct?

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011
Q.

i have a good tooth in my front upper jaw (central incisor 1) but its twisted and is overlapping upon its next one (another central incisor. Now thats making my smile look bad. I have seen a dentist and he, after examining x-rays, told theres no space between my teeth and brace are not an option for me. then he suggested me a solution that is he will grind the tooth and root canal and then put on a crown.

is it ok?? is what the doctor saying right? after coming back home i got a question that is why do i need a root canal? Cant i simply grind and wear the crown?

is this the right solution that he suggested.. is there any new technology in the developed world?
