I Had To Have Most Of My Teeth Taken Out After An Abscess, What Can I Do To Get My Confidence Back?
Q.
Hi Dr Shaffie, I’ve just had treatment for an abscess on my tooth at the back of my mouth, that has led the hospital to take all my teeth out barring six. Now I can’t eat or speak properly I am so upset and I have lost my confidence of going out or even going to work. I think I’m going to need to get porcelain veneers or implants. I’m not sure what’s best for me and what the best options are because the last six teeth I have also need to come out as well because they are rotten so it will be a full set upper and lower. I really hope you can help me with this so any advice will be greatly received. Many thanks.

Hi, I’m sorry to hear of your problems. It sounds like your best option would be dental implants and fixed teeth but that is quite expensive. You can have a full set of dentures as well which you may need to consider. We can offer you a free consultation in our clinic in case you want to stop by and discuss potential options. Thanks I hope this helps. Dr Shaffie.
