Do I Need Specialist Treatment for Tooth Removal?

Friday, July 22nd, 2016
Q.

Hi, my teeth are in a terrible state. I think I need all of them out due to either being rotten or severe gum recession, where if they don’t get taken out they will fall out as my front bottom teeth are not meeting the gums now at the back. I have not been to the dentist for years and even when I was in agony with a rotten tooth I did not go and everything just got worse. Every time I try brushing my teeth the blood flows freely. I am very depressed about this and it just spirals by being ashamed about it.

I need specialist treatment for the removal of teeth, as well as gum recession dentures.

Please help.

Can You Recommend A Dentist Where I Can Get My Teeth Fixed? I Have A Real Fear Of Dentists.

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Gambroudes, I have a real fear of dentists. The whole experience is a nightmare. Can you recommend a dentist where I can get my teeth fixed? I have very badly rotten and broken teeth throughout my mouth but now it’s getting to the point that I no longer feel I want to open my mouth. I want them fixed or removed and replaced if possible. I want to go out and be able to smile at people without them giving me dirty looks. Also having teeth will boost my confidence and allow me to get a face to face job instead of me applying for all the job where I don’t have to see customers so to speak. Please can you help.

I’ve Not Looked After My Teeth. A Couple Of Teeth Are Rotten And Wonky. Should I Have Them All Removed And Replaced?

Thursday, August 21st, 2014
Q.

Hello Marcus.

Okay so I’m in a pretty bad situation.

I’ve unfortunately not been taking care of my teeth for a number of years and due to this I have now got a couple of teeth that have worn/rotten themselves down inside my gums.
Alongside this I have pretty wonky teeth. So inside of my mouth is a disaster.

Am I correct in thinking I have 2 options. Remove the bad teeth through the NHS and then pay for a brace to straighten the rest or take them all out and get a nice shiny set of new teeth?

Part 2 of my question would be asking you how much this would cost. Am I liable to get this done for free as a 24 year old, unemployed graduate? Hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you.

My Tooth Is Rotten And Wobbly. Should I Get This Seen To Straight Away Or Wait Till After My Daughter’s Wedding?

Tuesday, June 24th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes. My back tooth is rotten and half fell out years ago. It caused me no discomfort for a long time but now the other half is wobbly and is making me very uncomfortable. What do I do? My daughter is getting married in 2 days and I don’t want to be in pain for that day. The tooth can’t be pulled as I was told a while back my gums need to be cut to get it out. Should I leave it and hope it doesn’t fall out and cause more pain or do I go dentist now? Thanks.

All My Life I’ve Wanted The Perfect Smile. What Are The Best Treatments To Achieve This?

Monday, April 28th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Moore. I am 46 and have all my life want a perfect smile. For the upper teeth anyway, my teeth are badly crooked at front, I have had a few removed at the back either side, and one front tooth is starting to rot. It’s been filled at the back to the maximum capacity and the one next to it is starting to go too. I have diabetes also. What’s my best option? Dentures? I am prepared to have all my remaining upper teeth removed to get that smile I have always longed for. Thank you for your time. I look forward to your reply.

I Would Like To Know More About Veneers And The Processes I Would Need To Through When Paying For Treatment?

Thursday, April 24th, 2014
Q.

Hello Mark. I’m looking to get veneers but I’m not sure what type I need as my teeth are quite badly discoloured. My teeth are not in the greatest shape. If I have veneers placed over my bad teeth will they rot underneath? I’m 20 years old and I don’t smoke but I don’t want veneers that will not last. Also is it possible to get veneers on finance, if so what do I have to pay? Does this involve a deposit plus the monthly cost? What is the process of having veneers fixed? Thank you.

Why Can’t I Get A Bridge Through The NHS, And How Much Would I Expect To Pay?

Tuesday, November 26th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Moore, I have something I’d like to ask. I had four veneers fitted on my four upper front teeth 21 years ago, one has broken and my teeth have gone completely rotten behind them. I saw an NHS dentist this morning who says the four teeth need removing and she advises that I see a private dentist for a bridge. How much should I expect to pay and why can’t I have this done on the NHS? She said she can only offer me dentures and she does not think this is the correct treatment? I’d like to hear any advice from this on this.

I Have Teeth Which Need Are Yellow And Rotten At The Bottom. I Need To Know How To Fix This As It’s Making Me Unhappy?

Tuesday, November 26th, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr Shaffie. I am 53 years old and my teeth have been getting me down for going on 25 years now. They’re very yellow and some are rotten at the bottom. My dentist says there is nothing I can do about it, so I don’t go no more. I am unable to have a relationship or get a job, because I have to talk with my mouth shut, or turn away from people when I speak. I have tried many products on the market. ie, smile for you, but nothing works. I would love to just be able to relax an speak and smile with people. I am desperately unhappy and would hope that you could advise me where I could go to get treatment for this. I am unemployed so money is very tight. desperately waiting for a reply from you. Thank you.

I Have Neglected My Teeth And Now They Are Rotten. How Can I Get My Perfect Smile Back?

Thursday, October 17th, 2013
Q.

When my mother was living I had what my dentist use to call the perfect smile. My mother use to make sure I took extra good care of my teeth. She use to always say your smile is the first thing people see so you should always care about your smile. When she passed away I completely stopped caring for my teeth. I barely brushed them and I hardly ever flossed, I never liked doing that anyway as my mom use to do that. But I was wondering If I have really rotten teeth and some that have broken off, is it still possible for me to have a beautiful smile again like I use to when I was Fourteen.
