Hi Dr Shaffie, please can you help me as I’m at an all time low. I’ve had to have all my teeth extracted except for 8. I am only 24 years old. My dentist has said it was due to me not eating that had caused my teeth to break. I think dentures look awful and I feel like there’s no way forward. I need to pay via some kind of payment plan for treatment but not sure if clinics offer this? Please help, I can’t enjoy outdoor time with my child as I’m embarrassed. Thanks very much.
Hi, I have my first appointment with the orthodontists coming up in about 9 weeks. I went there last year and I was told I could get them but I said no, I didn’t want them. About 9 months later I changed my mind and asked my dentist to sign me up again (by the way I was 14 in April). He did just that and now we are at the present day where I am about to get my first appointment.
I wanted to ask you if you think I will get the chance to get them again. My two upper front teeth are overlapping by quite a bit and my two lower front teeth are too (not as much though – only about 1-2mm). I also don’t have a correct bite, when I bite down you can’t see my lower set of teeth because my upper set comes over them.

I have a tooth growing on top of another tooth (2nd premolar). I would like to know if I would need braces to fix this. I have been searching online and have seen that most people who share my problem with their teeth have needed and been given braces. They have said it was because of the growing tooth needing to grow down straight after the already present tooth was removed, so that none of the other teeth would move. I am not sure whether the growing tooth is growing in the right position, but it appears as though it is growing but sticking out of line from the rest of the teeth. I also cannot chew properly on that side (left) of my mouth, because of my tooth pushing against the one that is growing which hurts a lot. I also would like to know how the gaps in my teeth and my two bottom central twisted incisors could also be fixed (if possible), as other people always point them out to me which effects my confidence a lot.

Hi Dr Shaffie. What are my options if my two front teeth are becoming loose? They feel loose and they are not stable. What are my options if my two front teeth are rotting out? I do not know if they are rotting out or not but I am worried they are. I drink a lot of tea. But I brush my teeth three times a day. But my mother had to have dentures in her early thirties and I was worried about my teeth
I do not want to leave the gaps in my mouth especially my two front teeth. Is there a way to put two fake teeth in and attach them to my gums? Thank you I hope you can answer my queries.
Dr Shaffie. I have 10 teeth at the top of my mouth on a metal denture with lots of discomfort, it’s held in place by metal clasps on one side only has there are no teeth on the left. Oral thrush and mouth ulcers are part of my every day life. I have seen my dentist who thinks a new plate would be beneficial. Well I tend to agree that getting rid of the metal would be good as having a plastic replacement seems silly as this one was a replacement for my last plastic denture. Would a flexible denture be better and kinder on my gums and if so is it possible to hold it in place with no support on the left side? And what is the cost of these dentures.? Thank you.
Hi Dr Shaffie. My dream is to have real teeth again. Since I was fitted with top dentures my worse nightmare has come true. I am 49 years old and I’ve had top plastic dentures for 3 years now. I have stopped going out into the public I’ve lost my confidence completely. It’s impossible for me to ever save up whilst I’m on income support. My dream come true is to get my all my top teeth fitted with implants something is telling me to ask a dentist online. Is there any clinic which offer reduced rates to help my dream come true. Hi, I’m currently nearly 5 months pregnant, I have a maternity exemption form and I just wanted to know something, a couple of months after I had my son I was brushing my teeth and the inside corner up to the halfway mark chipped off one of my top front teeth, I never got it looked at because I was always ashamed of it never smiling in front of people and never laughing and so from then a month or two after that it broke up to the top and was more ashamed to let anybody see it. It’s been like this now for around 2 years, would I have to pay for this as it would need a white filling, thanks in advance.
Hello, I have had three of my front teeth fitted with porcelain crowns but I am unhappy with their appearance – my dentist has agreed to replace them. However, two of the teeth are root filled and quite weak. My dentist has scared me by telling me that it’s a high probability removing the crowns will damage whats left of the teeth and he’s not keen on fitting posts – he says they don’t last long and can cause problems. I don’t know whether to just leave them (even though I’ve paid £600 per crown) or chance it and have them redone.
Any advice would be appreciated?

Hi Dr Shaffie. I am 21 years old and I have naturally yellow teeth. I feel ashamed when I talk with somebody and I’m unable to smile properly. What are the possible solution to make my teeth white? I want to ask where I can get treatment for my yellow teeth as I’m unable to attract people and wish to have a beautiful smile. I really feel very ashamed because of yellow teeth and I don’t even smoke, drink or eat junk food, I brush daily twice. But this doesn’t help. Please give me suggestions to make them white. Hello Dr Hussein Shaffie, Could you tell me how reliable are cantilever bridges as an alternative to implant placement? More specifically, in a situation where an implant has failed once? In the situation, there were two implants placed next to each other, and one failed. These are two of the front teeth, the lateral incisor and canine. The canine implant is still there, but the incisor implant failed. What do you recommend as the best option for someone interested in a more permanent solution than a retainer with teeth? Thank you for any advice you can offer.
