My age is 30. In the lower jaw I have natural gap between two teeth. Previously this gap was very small and negligible. now since last 2-3 yrs it is increased. this gap is little less than one tooth size in width.
This is really very irritating, in looks and while eating. I dont have any other teeth problems other than that my all teeths are very yellow and seems like I smoke, actually i don’t. Should i go for implant? If yes do i need to go for 3-4 teeth implants or add single tooth? Does implant last for life and what care is required in the long run? please suggest any other solution otherwise.? Thanking you.

Do you think a dental implant will fix the gap in my teeth?
Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012Could the six month smile work for me?
Wednesday, May 16th, 2012I have heard about something called the six month smile and was wondering if it could be something that would work for me. I have a gap between my front two teeth and slightly uneven teeth either side. It’s never been a massive issue but due to personal circumstances I would like to be looking my best. I also want my teeth whitened. Does the treatment mean that you can only have treatment that would take 6 months and also how can it work in such a short time when braces can take a few years?Thank you any any help would be great.
What can be done to rectify filing that was done on my teeth during braces treatment?
Monday, May 14th, 2012Hi there, I’ve had braces on for the past 18 months and they are due to come off in a couple of weeks. I am unhappy with the filing my orthodontist has done. It now looks as though the corners of some of my teeth have been chipped and they also look irregular! Is there any way I can get this corrected? Should I ask my orthodontist to lengthen the teeth he’s filed that i’m unhappy with so as they can be reshaped?

Can I correct my smile with orthodontics rather than using veneers?
Monday, April 16th, 2012Hi,
I have regional ordonto displacia ( not sure on spelling). I was diagnosed at 3years old. I have it in my upper left quad and only 4 teeth there (that have grown through for a 3rd time). These teeth have been brought forward using orthodontics and then capped to reshape them to their new function. The front tooth however is an implant.
I have always been self concious of my teeth/smile and since my treatment finished 4 years ago at the age of 21 I have little more confidence. The problem I have is that my implant is smaller than its natural partner and the line of my implant and caps goes up! Meaning that all the teeth on that side a smaller and not symmetrical to my normal side. My centre line is also slightly over to my left.
I just want to know what I can do to have a perfect smile to be proud of, after so many years I am not keen to have veneers as these will render my previous pain worthless.
the work done is great and I’m very grateful but I still can’t bear to look at my teeth up close.
the caps are also now cracking… HELP?
What can I do to salvage my remaining teeth and dental bridge?
Friday, March 23rd, 2012!5 Yrs ago I had lost a lot of my top teeth due to decay my dentist said he would have to extract the remaining ones and fit a denture .I was mortified at this as i was only 45 ,After pleading for an alternative, he said he would try and file the remaining teeth down and fit 2 bridges to make a top set of teeth .This was done and for 15 yrs i have had no problems till now. I do have poor gum health despite flossing under bridges and using electric toothbrush with corsodyl toothpaste .I simply cannot bear hygienist cleaning teeth as I have such terrible sensitivity to the cold water and this is something I have always suffered with .My dentist left the practice 5 yrs ago and it was taken over by a young female dentist who when I had 4 bottom teeth fracture extracted them and as i only had 4 teeth left suggested removing them and fitting a bottom denture .unfortunately she had trouble removing them as they were strong teeth and ripped my gums so badly I had multiple stitches .This experience was so horrendous I now am terrified to go back even though my bottom denture is really loose and so uncomfortable .Now I have pain with hot drinks under the end tooth of one of the 2 top bridges. What are my options ? as the thought of her taking out my remaining top teeth and fitting denture terrifies me.i I am on denplan with her and there are no other dentists in my area(cardiff) that will take me unless i go private and I cannot afford that as I am now 60 and on a basic state pension .Hope you can suggest what options I have. thank you regards

Will braces help correct the gaps between my teeth, even though I am a tongue thruster?
Tuesday, March 20th, 2012Dear Sir ,
I have huge gap between my upper and lower teeth which looks so awakward that I cannot explain .I consulted few doctors here and received mixed advises. Most of them said that I should go for Braces however few of them convinced me saying that the gaps are due to the pusing and touching tendency of my toungue , which is relatively bigger than normal.Even if I get the gaps fixed by using braces for long [eriod of time , there is no guarantee that the gaps will not come again. Kindly advise me what should be the suitable and economical treatment for my case.
Thank you in advance.
Is is possible to have my retainer off for my wedding?
Wednesday, March 7th, 2012Dear Dr Safeer
I have a wedding to attend in May and was wondering wether you think it is ok to have the front 6 brackets taken off for three days during the wedding. I am 8 months into my treatment and had four premolars removed in November. I am currently in the process of having the gaps closed so have powerchains on.
I read somewhere that it was not a good idea to have the brackets removed during this period as it takes several months for the bracket to develop a strong bond to the tooth to hold the powerchain.
Would having this done prolong my treatment time and by how long?
Thank you
