My daughter does not qualify for an NHS orthodontist

Friday, May 2nd, 2008
Q.
My daughter has been assessed at a 2D rating for needing a brace. The orthodontist said she does not qualify for NHS treatment and would need to pay in excess of £2000 for treatment. Could you please explain the rating to me as I don’t understand how she does not qualify, yet needs this treatment

My bottom teeth are cramped and overlapping

Friday, May 2nd, 2008
Q.
I am 26 years old and terrified of the dentists but always pluck up the courage to make an appointment every 6 months. My teeth are in a very clean and healthy condition but my problem is my front bottom six teeth are really cramped and over lapping giving me slurred speach. I also have an uneven bite. My top teeth are quite straight apart from one tooth which is twisted to the side. What sort of treatment would i need and how much could it cost. I had a brace when i was younger but hated it so much i removed it after about 2 months (the most regretable decision of my life). Cosmetic dentistrty is the only option for me. Thanks

What is the diffeence between Invislaign and clear retainers

Q.
What’s the difference between the invisible braces and the clear retainers worn by my daughter at night, after she had the traditional ‘train tracks’ metal braces removed?

Two front teeth are large and crooked will the Inman Aligner work

Friday, May 2nd, 2008
Q.
I am a fourty year old woman who has always been self conscious of my teeth. My two front teeth are large and crooked in the inwards direction. My other teeth are far from perfect but these are the worst of them. My teeth have always had a yellow tinge to them and now are even darker. I am thinking of porcelain veneers but do not like the sound of trimming the surface of the teeth so wondered if I would be better having an Inman Aligner fitted in London and then having the teeth whitened. What is your opinion please?

can Inman aligner be used for a crossbite

Thursday, May 1st, 2008
Q.
Hi, i know it’s very difficult to offer advice without seeing a patient, but can you tell me is it possible to correct a cross-bite with an inman aligner? I would then like to have veneers fitted but i have been advised that veneers are not possible at the minute due to my minor cross-bite…. Many thanks in advance, P

Do NHS hospital offer Inman Aligners

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008
Q.
Hi, Two of my bottom teeth are crooked & i would like to have a brace to straighen them. Can you advise me how much it would cost for the cheapest brace. I’m on a tight budget & would not be able to afford Invisalign. Please advise prices on fixed braces, inman aligner’s? Also can you advise me whether NHS dental hospitals that offer private dentistry would be cheaper than other othodontics.Thanks.
