Zoom whitening and Second opinion on prescribed drugs

Q. I have been discussing having Zoom whitening with my dentist. I have a tooth needs crowning and several fillings to be redone after the whitening process. My teeth are very sensitive particularly a front tooth – the one to be capped. It snapped off and was ‘glued’ back temporarily. I apply sensodyne regularly. I have been recommended to take the full dose of Nurofen for the 7 days prior to the treatment. However on a daily basis I am taking Ramipril, Lipitor and Aspirin. I have read the leaflet in the Nurofen packet and it is my opinion that I shouldn’t take them with my medication. Not wanting to bother my doctor, I;m sure it would quite irritate him actually, I wonder if you could advise please. Thankyou in anticipation.

A. Hi, If you already take asprin it might be better for you to use an alternative painkiller such as paracetamol, however I would speak to your doctor first in case you have any other drug sensitivity’s.
You could also consider home whitening using dentist made trays, this tends to cause less sensitivity.
Thanks  Andrew
