What type of veneers are best for my teeth?

Q.
i am thinking about having veneers on my upper 6 front teeth, and my dentist said to use vita veneers, one dentist said take the veneers to the tooth tip the other said take it over the tip and around, over the incisor edge. what do you advise?
they also said about having temporary veneers but didn’t explain exactly how these stick to my teeth while i wait for the real ones to be made?
I do not have any decay and my gums are healy the teeth are just very crooked and i would like them to appear staighter and fresher looking.
how long doyou think they will last also?

thank you

A.
Hi

If you run the veneer over the top of the teeth often this allows the technician (who makes the final veneers) to put further characteristics in if you are trying to completely mask the teeth….unfortunately without seeing you it is impossible to advise you on which is the best option for you personally. Temporary veneers are often hel by undercuts between the teeth or occasionally lightly glued onto the teeth. They are worn between the preparation appointment and the fit and allow you to test you new teeth.

A couple of points I would advise – if you teeth and gums are healthy just very crooked have you considered orthodontics (braces) – there are lots of options out there and can be invisible / hidden.

If you are to have veneers I very rarely provide my patients with six veneers as often the side teeth look small and hidden (what is called the ‘buccal corridors’). I usually recommend either the four front teeth or ten but not six.

Good luck

Mark
