Hello Dr Moore, I would like to know if arch-wires on braces can push teeth in any direction? Like if the arch-wire pushed the teeth out too much would it then be able to move them back in again? My teeth stick out quite a lot and I’m thinking about wearing braces. Does it take a considerable amount of time to straighten teeth that stick out? Do the different types of braces work differently? Hello Andrew. I would like my front teeth to be straightened but I am not sure if the six month smile will be the right treatment for me. Do you have to have the brace tightened like with conventional braces and how much does it cost each time this is done? Also, how much will it cost to have a retainer fitted and will I have to wear it forever? If the brace is the same colour as the teeth, is there a danger that the brace will become stained by food and drink?

They are set back further than the rest and also sit a little lower. Ideally I would like my two front teeth to be sitting a little higher up the gum and set forward with the other teeth.
At the side of the two front teeth, I have little ‘fangs’ which are slightly turning into the direction of the two front teeth. I would also like to have these fixed.
Braces aren’t an option for me due to the nature of my work, I am also not a candidate for Invisalign. I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.
Hi Mark, I’d like your advice. I’m having 4 top teeth removed for partial denture. They stick out to a V shape at the front. Now there isn’t much space so the front teeth will be made narrower to fit the gap, will this look normal? My top lip is full, so will bringing the teeth back straight make my lip really thin?

My daughter is nearly 8 and I have noticed that her two top front teeth (they are her second teeth) are growing at strange angles and behind her two bottom teeth is another tooth growing behind. I’m really worried, at our last check up a few months ago the dentist told me not to worry but to be honest I can’t help but worry, although things can be done when she is older. I had braces which my dentist removed one and a half year back. I didn’t wear the retainers as it hurt a lot. She completed my treatment without removing any of my teeth. After finishing my treatment I still felt that my upper teeth were still in front and my friends felt that too. What should I do to get my teeth straight? I don’t want braces again. Is there any other option which would have a reasonable cost since I have spent more than 40k on my treatment already?
I would like to push back my upper front teeth and to straighten them too so there’s no overcrowding. I would also like to straighten my lower teeth which are crowded and one tooth protrudes outwards significantly. I have seen an orthodontist and cosmetic dentist but I’m totally confused whether to go with an orthodontist or a cosmetic dentist. One recommended Invisalign the other Six month smiles. One also said they couldn’t push my lower tooth back in line totally due to lack of space. Is there anything that can be done to create more space for a perfect outcome? Thank you.
