What type of procedure is involved when placing a dental implant?

Q. My dentist suggested I have dentures for my back teeth as I am afraid I haven’t got any, I have all my front teeth. What I would like to ask is, how are inplants done, what is involved. I dont know wheather I could cope with a pallette for false teeth. I have made an appointment for August to have an impression for false teeth, but I think I prefer to have inplants, but I dont know whether I can afford them as I am now a pensioner.,
A. implants are the best way to replace teeth and the closest thing to having naural teeth. You need to be assessed to see how much bone you have in your jaw if there is not enough grafting procedures are often needed to re grow bone before implants are placed. The new teeth are attached to the implants.
