What questions should I ask dentist about dental implants?

Q. Apart from the obvious questions of costs when researching dental implants. What are the other questions that you need to be asking the dentist. Should you be forthright and ask what make they use etc, do they have an inhouse lab etc etc. I am in the process of acquiring a dental implant for one of my front teeth and I want to now what I’ll be getting for my money without coming across rude. Kind regards,
A. You should really ask about the experinece the dentist has and how many implants he places a year as this will give you an idea of the experience of the dentist. Other relevant questions maybe the length of time he has been using implants and the post graduate qualifications he has obtained in the subject

Hi Dr Moore, many thanks for your reply.

With regards to his qualifications can you elaborate on them a little more. I am looking for certain letters after his name, also is there a certain qualification related to dental implants that he needs in order to carry them out. Will just be registered on the General Dental Council do.

The reasearch I have carried out already shows some dentists with just BDS after thier name, but others have MFGDP or Dip Rest Dent. I would expect the latter letters to mean he is more qualified in this area of dentistry.

Sorry for so many questions but I need to get this right. I want to go somewhere, pay the price and never have to go back again. lol

Kind regards
