What is the difference between lumineers and veneers?

Q. hi rob.what is the difference between lumineers and veneers.surly youd go for luminneers every time as they are less invasive.do they last as long?what is the average lifespan in your opinion of them both,
A. lumineers is a trade name for a market leader in the top end ceramics. Other systems like emax, empress are also in the same bracket. Their material strength and method of manufacure mean that you can make them thinner and finish the margins to a feather edge once cemented. This means that they can be used as no drill, but some lumineer cases still involve tooth reduction to improve the end result. They should in general last longer. We garuantee all ceramics for 5 years and hope for > 10 years for all. I expect pressable ceramics to last longest. Conventional ceramic veneers can incorporate more colour affects as they are built up; this results in a better blend of an individual veneered tooth to a natural tooth. Also some situations an instanding tooth will be not need to be thin and so the conventional might be prefered on cost.
