Unhappy about denture and am looking for info about metal plates?
Q. Dear Sirs, I was wondering wether or not you could help me, you see im at my wits end, when i was about 22 years old i started with terrible dental problems, abcesses mouth ulcers, etc, and over the years got worse in a result of me eventually having full dentures, none of my family know i have dentures as i never take them out apert to clean them,the dentures i have at the moment are old and worn so i went to the dentist for new ones,i cant wear them the teeth dont close together, i cant chew or bite anything and i look like a horse they are huge, my dentist said i need to get used to them(i know that) but they are completely wrong, what i wanted to know was if there was any way i could have metal plates put into both my upper and lower jaw and have teeth inserted into them and if so what would roughly be the cost, thankyou for your time,
A. Thanks for your questions, it may be possible for you to have implants placed. Dental Implants can be used to support a denture, or to retain fixed bridge work. The most cost effective way would be to have two dental Impants placed, which could then be used to support a denture. The cost of this treatment will vary between practitioners, however I can tell you that I currently charge from £3000 for this service. The alternative would be to have at least four implants, but preferably up to six implants placed to support fixed bridgework, with the cost for this treatment starting at around £10000. Many of the practices who offer these services are able to offer interest free credit to help finance the treatment.
