The crown is too big for my tooth, how much should I expect to pay to have this replaced?

Q.
16 years ago I had a crown fitted to my the very back molar. I wasn’t happy when it was fitted…as it was obviously far too big for the tooth. At the time the locum dentist remarked that it was too big but she was going to go ahead with it anyhow. It looks even uglier along with my gum which appears to be receding more revealing an even uglier spectacle. I am wondering how much it would cost to be replaced?
A.
Cost will depend on several things.

For example, how good do you want the end result to be? Dental crowns done to an extremely high aesthetic standard will usually cost more that those where this is not a high priority.

The experience and skill of both the dentist and the dental technician who will make your crown will also influence the fee you pay.

The complexity of your individual treatment will also determine the fee as well as the material chosen.

My advice is to seek a few consultations and be very clear about what your objectives are. Ask yourself how long you’d like the crown to last, how ‘real’ do you want it to look and how much do your value this work being done to the highest standards possible. What might seem like a high price may be much better value in the long term if it fits perfectly, looks fantastic and lasts 15-20 years.

High quality crowns in Central London will cost anywhere from £600 to over £1000 per crown

I hope that helps answer your questions?
