Does the fixed dental bridge have to be drilled off and the whole are be redone?

Thursday, July 9th, 2009
Q.
I have been reading about veneers but I am a little concerned about a couple of things. Firstly my teeth are stained but this is due to ( I have been told) antibiotics (penicillin i think) when I was much younger, so I dont think teeth whitening products are an option for me, also my front teeth are thinning-this is why I thought of veneers. However, what happens when the patient has , say, a crown on one of the teeth intended for a veneer and for a dental bridge(fixed many years ago- I know dentists generally would not use this method now).Does the foxed dentl bridge have to be drilled off and the whole are be redone? Thanks

My front two teeth have been chipped is veneers the only option in nhs?

Thursday, July 9th, 2009
Q.
My front two teeth have been chipped and when i first visited my dentist i asked whether he could tidy them up so i wasnt so self concious about them, i told him veneers were not an option due to the cost, iwa visiting him as an nhs patient. he said when i came back to have a back filling replaced he would put white fillings on my front teeth to make them stronger and more presentable. on my return he replaced my old filling at the back and said he couldnt put a filling in the front as it probably wouldnt hold very long and it would possibly break my teeth if it fell out, and my only option was veneers. i feel very disappointed as i was looking forward to being more confident smiling, in the back of my mind i feel it was because i was an nhs patient should i complain or just accept it.

My daughter needs her veneers to be redone under IV sedation can you recommend any one?

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr Bohara, I am writing on behalf of my adult daughter. She cannot go to the dentist unless she has IV sedation. She has recently moved to the Nottingham area and wants to have her veneers which are about ten years old redone. She also needs some emmergency fillings and is having pain. Could you pass on the name of a dentist in the Nottingham area where she could have IV sedation by a properely qualified dental practioner. Thank you,

Is there a technique that can be used to avoid tooth darkening after a root canal treatment

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr Patel, I am hoping you may be able to give me some advice; I have recieved conflicting info so far and I’m unsure! Basically I have veneers to my upper teeth and unfortunately one of them now needs a root canal on it as it was damaged during the prep for the veneers and is very painful. My dentist says the rct can be done from the back of the tooth and not affect the veneer. However another dentist has told me that the tooth will likely go dark and show through the veneer, spoiling the look from the front. I am really worried about this. Is there a technique that can be used to avoid the tooth darkening after a root canal? And are you aware of similar cases where the veneers appearance has not been affected after the rct? Many thanks for any advice or info you can give

I have 2 missing teeth at the top either side of the middle two. My two front teeth are also receeding. It sometimes hurts when i brush them. I was wondering would i be able to get veneers on the top teeth, if so how much would it cost. My bottom teeth are not too bad, but i really hate them. Im embarrassed when people see them, and hate smiling!! Need to do something…

The veneers fitted in my front teeth has gradual deterioration what do you recommend next

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009
Q.
Hi Almost 20 years ago as a child I had an accident where I broke my 2 top front teeth and chipped the edge of the adjacent lateral incisor. these were all infilled with cement (or something like that) and veneered. The dentist at the time did say that by age 18 or so I should look to get them capped. They;ve never really given me problems and although I have been aware of gradual deteriation through wear, I think they are on the verge of breaking now. Is their any benefit to capping them over veneering if they seem to last so long anyway? What would you recommend? Thanks
