My teeth are very unattractive so would invisible braces or veneers be an options?

Thursday, August 13th, 2009
Q.
Hi, i have hated my teeth all my life and they have always been a problem. I have had two braces (first a retainer then a ‘train track’ brace) my teeth were intially straight whenthe brace first came off but the two they had brought forward had a lot lower gums than the rest which looked very unattractive, i was told that in time the gums would move themselves up. well 5 years later im nearly back to square one the gums have not moved and my teeth have moved back. i would like to know what i can do to gain a nice smile i saw veneers would not be the solution but i feel i deserve a nice ‘hollywood’ looking smile after all ive gone through. would an invisible brace then veneers be an option?

My front two teeth are more prominent than the other what are my options

Thursday, August 13th, 2009
Q.
Hello i have a problem with one of my two front teeth, which is more prominent than the first, the problem for me is simply cosmetic, its very noticable when i smile as a have a broad smile and this particular tooth is noticably more orward than the other, i have also noticed that over the past year or so it seems to be moving more forward is there a possibility to aline so to spek this tooth, or to set straight both of the front teeth? i am 33 years old at present and im certain that this tooth is going to become more and more prominent than the rest of my teeth thank you, i look forward to your reply

My porcelain veneers are fitted very close together Is there a way to fix it?

Thursday, August 13th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr Glaister, I had 6 porcelain veneers fitted nearly two years ago to my top front teeth as I had very crooked teeth and large canines. I wasn’t very happy with them when i first saw them but thought that i just needed to get used to them because they were so different to my own teeth. However, after nearly two years i still don’t like them and it’s getting me very down. The reason I don’t like them is because they are fitted very close together and I think this makes them look very fake, and it also means I’m having to floss every time i eat. Is there any way they can be altered without having to replace them, as I really can’t afford to have them done again?

How easy it would be to remove the current veneers and replace it

Friday, August 7th, 2009
Q.
I had two veneers fitted on my front teeth approximately twenty years ago. Over the years my gums have receeded and the tops of my own teeth are showing through and are discoloured (yellowy). In addition, the rest of my teeth are yellowing and the veneers look whiter. I would like to know how easy it would be (assuming it is possible) to remove the current veneers, have my teeth whitened and then replace the veneers to match the colour following whitening. I would also like to know how much this would cost roughly and how many visits I would need.

Is it advisable get the veneers replaced for an improved one

Friday, August 7th, 2009
Q.
Hi, Hope you can help? I have had veneers fitted but one of the central front ones is completely the wrong size (too small) and does not match its counterpart. I have been advised that this one can be replaced for an improved one to fit with the others better, but I am very worried that, as it will be made at a different time to the others, that it might look even worse and end up a different colour. Is there any technique to avoid this happening? Any advise/reassurance would be great, thanks

My teeth are in pall yellow are veneers the next step for a whiter smile

Friday, August 7th, 2009
Q.
My question is really two. My teeth are pail yellow. Are veneers the next step for a whiter smile, when you have already used at home kits – such as Crest White Strips – and they did little to nothing to whiten your teeth? And, if so, how much is the cost of such a thing(in Canada)?
