I recently had my teeth whitened but I’m not happy. Now I’ve been told to use a home system. Can I get my money back?

Q.
I recently had my teeth whitened by Zoom. I was not offered a consultation to explain risks nor did my dentist make a record of shade/colour before of after. The results were very disappointing and noone has noticed any difference. When I complained to the dentist he offered a home system called “wy10” and charged extra. I feel I have been charged for 2 separate whitening systems. Do I have the right to ask for my money back as the Zoom was unsuccessful?,

I’m unhappy with my new crowns, they’re not at all like imagined they would be. Am I stuck with them?

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010
Q.
I’ve always wanted to have my smile improved and decided that after many years i would look into getting my teeth crowned, i had chipped, discoloured and filled teeth all along the front row. I eventually had the work done but im not happy with the overall result, they’re not like I imagined they would be, they’re more yellow than white, they’re too big and the finish along the gum line is ‘chunky’. Apparently that’s because they were NHS and not private, surely this should not make a difference and I shouldn’t have to accept this. Can they be improved or am i stuck with them ? I’d appreciate your advice.,

I’m not happy with my dental veneers, what can I do? Please help!

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010
Q.
Hi I have had my teeth whitened, gums sculptured and 4 veneers on my top teeth, the total cost is £3000, although so far I’ve only paid one finance installment. The veneers were fitted today and I’m really unhappy with the result, the teeth are too big and too long, they are not of even length and are not regular in their shape or appearance. I don’t know what to do and although I appreciate it may be difficult for you to comment on the result, can you advise me as to the best way to proceed. I know the veneers were made in just 3 working days (due to a mistake made by the dentist) and I wonder if that has effected the quality of the veneers I’ve ended up with. I don’t know whether to trust the dentist to try again or whether I should refuse to pay and get a different dentist to replace the veneers. Please help, i’m so upset!! I can email you before and after photos if that will help you to answer.,

I went to my dentist to have my front post crown replaced

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010
Q.
I went to my dentist to have my front post crown replaced. when I went to have it fitted the dentist took out my old crown before he realised the new one was not ready, so he fitted me with a temporary crown. The next week the new crown did not fit and he said he was having problems with the dental lab making the tooth On the third visit the crown was ready. When he showed me the result it looked very big but i was lying down and couldn’t see properly. Now i am at home the tooth feels very big and loks bigger than the tooth next to it. I have already paid the £198 NHS charge and do not want to go back to this dentist but who can I trust to make the crown properly?,
