Can my upper lip be tightened?

Saturday, September 5th, 2009
Q.
Hello Was wondering if you can kindly give me advice. I have a short upper lip which means my lips do not meet when I relax & consequently I always show my upper teeth. I have previously had Orthodontic & jaw surgery but my lips still do not meet. Is there a procedure where I can have my top lip lengthened? If so, can you provide me with details & where I have could have this done. Thanks for your help

Will the wobbling teeth in braces automatically stiffen itself?

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr Caplan. I’ve just had my braces put in. Three days after having them put in when my teeth were stull tender, sore and not as stable, I fell and hit one of my front tooth on the ground, which resulted in some bleeding seeping out from that gum line. Now four months after, that tooth now clicks when I push it with my tongue, and feels ‘wobbly’ to a degree. It will become stiff again like before, or will I need a procedure to strengthen its stability? Thanks

my front tooth is twisted a bit would it be possible to only have 1 veneers

Q.
My teeth are in pretty good condition. I have no fillings and they are quite white. My only problem is my front tooth is twisted and so from the side, when i smile, my tooth looks pointed. I really want to get this corrected. Having researched a little into it i fear it may be really expensive. Would it be possible to only have 1 veneer, i dont want it to look odd against my other teeth, and how much would only 1 cost? Also how much would braces cost? as i dont think, in my case, it should take too long to correct. Thanks

Dr Glaister, I am 43 and face the problem of twisting front upper teeth and over crowded lower teeth with one capped tooth. All teeth are in reasonable shape. I am unsure of the next step in getting my teeth straightened. Is the answer orthodontics or cosmetic dentistry.

I’m 21 years old and I definitely dont want any braces

Q.
Hey, I’m 21 years old and I definitely dont want any braces. But, I have this one tooth between my incisor and canine which is completely crooked. It looks like I have a gap in my top half set, and then when you look close enough there is a tooth sitting at a 45 degree angle between two other teeth. Do you think if I had my widsom tooth in the top right corner of my mouth removed, my crooked tooth would straighten up? And if so, how long would it take? Thanks

I have a wire retainer stuck behind my tooth

Friday, August 8th, 2008
Q.
I had braces when i was younger to straighten my upper front teeth as the to teeth adjacent to my two middle front teeth were twisted. I have a piece of wire stuck behind my upper front teeth to keep them straight but recently they have started to move again because of my wisdom coming through. They are also slightly discoloured because I smoke. Do you think lumineers (the type of veeners that are stuck on without filing dow…i think this is what they’re called?) would work? what would you suggest? and what are the costs involved? Thanks so much!

I have twisted, crowded teeth and my teeth are moving what is the treatment cost?

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008
Q.
Hi, I basically have a cost question. I have a few issues with my teeth, nothing major but enough that I’m considering having them fixed. I can’t seem to find a cost-quote though, I’ve read a load of material but nothing with a price-list!.. Anyway, the problems I have are:

1) I have a twisted tooth on the lower jaw, it’s the one immediately to the right of my left incisor. It’s always been twisted so I was wondering if this was fix-able and also what the cost of doing it would be.

2) Again on the lower jaw, the second tooth from the left incisor has moved forward from the others, this has happened within the last 6months or so. It has always been slightly forward but it seems to have moved more recently. It has, however, set in place now so I was, again wondering if this was fix-able and also at what cost.

3) The most urgent problem I have is with my upper jaw, the tooth to the right of the “big2” has moved behind the big2 somewhat. This happened pretty much overnight, perhaps due to sleeping on my arm. It felt sore for a while but then it seemed to set in place, then again a few weeks later I awoke to find it was sore once more. It has basically popped behind the “big2” and the right incisor, so again, was wondering if this is fixable and at what cost.

Those are the three things I would like to have fixed if possible, and if you could provide me with a quote/ortho-reccomendation, I’d be more than grateful! Also, as a side-note, I’m 21 and male. And a general point is that I think my teeth may be a little “crowded” since they sometimes feel cramped and I’m guessing this is why the teeth have moved around, lack of space may be causing them to migrate!.. Anyway, thank you in advance for your time and response. It’s much appreciated and a big help. Kind Regards K
