Q.
Hello, i’d just like to know if i’m dentally ‘normal’?! i’m 32 years old, female, and work as a government researcher. i’ve got 7 fillings on my teeth (a couple very large) and a crown with a root treated tooth. is this normal for my age? i realise that everyone’s different, but, in terms of the cases you see everyday, does my dental work fit my age or have i had lots done? many thanks.

Friday, July 3rd, 2009
Q.
I am 42 yrs old and i have not been to a dentist since i was about 13 or 14 yrs old . i had alot of fillings done at that age and now i think they are all starting to fall out . but a few days ago i was eating something and i felt something real hard in my mouth only to discover it was a part of my tooth and some filling . when i checked in my mouth there is 2 teeth that seem like they have no back to them ,just seeing filling. please tell me that i can have something done to fix this . i know i have waited along time without getting anything done but u all know seeing the dentist can be very expensive and not all people can afford this . but right now i am hoping and praying that my teeth can be saved no matter what the price . please let me know if this is normal or is there somehting more that may be happening . its just the 2 close teeth right now but i worry that its the start to all of the fillings falling out .

My dentist filed down one of the healthy teeth for partial fitting is it correct procedure

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009
Q.
I recently had a mold done for a partial and when it came back it did not fit. My dentist proceeded to file one of my teeth down with a procedure called a “repiscus” or something. It happened so quick…no explanation or anything I just have a crooked tooth in the back. Now the once health tooth is painful to chew on and sensitive. I have a follow-up appointment but wanted to know if you know of this process of filing down adjoining helathy teeth for partial fitting.

i got filling at the back of my front tooth when i came home i cant put my teeth together advise

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009
Q.
Went to new nhs dentist in march, exam no problem, scale and polish broke bottom cusp of tooth and caused rough patch between front teeth, went back he used plastic ridged smoothing strip and put it between two teeth very rough, tooth started hurting from that moment, also cut my lip, wrote to owner of practice who checked front tooth xrayed it and said it looked ok, and the pain would subside, saw another nhs dentist at practice, who sold me a tube of tooth mousse and said to use it for two weeks, still no end to the pain, went on thursday, she drilled out a filling at the back of my front tooth, also said I has decay under the gum and put another filling at the top of front ooth under gum, then filled in between two front teeth, when I got home I could not put my teeth together or eat as there was so much composite filling in front tooth, that my bottom teeth kept hitting it, could not get appointment with her that day to have it smoothed down, so had to go private to another dentist to have it smoothed so that I could eat, all weekend the two front teeth feel like there is something stuck between them, and also feel very heavy like there is too much filling in them, I still cant eat properly and am in a lot of discomfort, please help me with some advice, I have asked for an appointment tomorrow, but dont feel that I should let this dentist near me, can I ask for the practice owner to see me again to rectify this mess, many thanks, really need an answer asap, if possible

should i be worried about the small area of filling which has been replaced by another dentist

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009
Q.
Hello: I have a filling in one on my back teeth, a month ago a small part of that filling fell out as i didn’t feel pain i didn’t book an appointment with the dentists. for tree days I was in pain so I decided to see a dentists. She told me that there’s not decay or another cavity in that area, so she just replaced the small area which fell out. I’m quite concerned as I’m not sure if It had been better to have the whole filling removed, and because of that I could have something bad in my tooth. The thing is but the moment I’m living in another country I’m i’ll see my dentist in four weeks. Should I be worried? My teeth are in really good condition as I see my dentist at least twice a year. Thanks

i have a quite jagged and bumpy teeth would filling be an option to get them straighter?

Monday, May 18th, 2009
Q.
I have recently become quite self concious about the bottoms of my teeth, some are quite jagged and bumpy and my top fron two teeth are quite long. Would filing be an option to get them straighter and would I need to see a cosmetic dentist or just my normal one?
