My dentist filed down one of the healthy teeth for partial fitting is it correct procedure

Q. I recently had a mold done for a partial and when it came back it did not fit. My dentist proceeded to file one of my teeth down with a procedure called a “repiscus” or something. It happened so quick…no explanation or anything I just have a crooked tooth in the back. Now the once health tooth is painful to chew on and sensitive. I have a follow-up appointment but wanted to know if you know of this process of filing down adjoining helathy teeth for partial fitting.

A. Sometimes it is necessary especially if the tooth is slightly misplaced or out of line, get your dentist to check it over for you.
