My new has not grown much is it possible to have an implant to replace the lost tooth

Thursday, July 9th, 2009
Q.
HI i’m 50 years old and last november had to to have a front tooth removed to make way for a new tooth coming through, unfortunately 8 months on the new tooth has not grown much. My dentist did provide me with a palet to wear, but find it uncomfortable. I would like to know if it would be possible to have an implant to replace the lost tooth, but as there is already a small part of the new tooth visible but not fully grown, would it make it a more difficult job to do.

Monday, June 22nd, 2009
Q.
3 months ago I went to my dentist with a painfull tooth. He filled the tooth and as soon as I came home terrible pain started. I stayed 2 weeks with the painkillers help and I went again to my dentist. He changed the filling and I was OK for 2 weeks and my pain started again. This time he said I am grinding my teeth and he couldn’t do anything for me. My question is when I touch around this tooth it hurts alot. Do you think it shows that it is not a healthy tooth and should be removed thank you

I two teeth which are need to be crowned will they be done in metal in NHS please advice

Saturday, May 30th, 2009
Q.
I currently have two teeth which by dentist said will benefit from being crowned. However he said that if I have these crowns on the NHS, they will have to be done in metal and will be seen as metal in my mouth, rather than porcelin and that to have a porcelin crown I will have to pay privately. I have tried looking for this information on the NHS website, under the band 3 information, however nothing is stated. Could you give me any information regarding this please.

what could a dentist do to fill the small triangular gap between my to front teeth

Saturday, May 30th, 2009
Q.
I have a small triangular gap between my to front teeth and I think it looks very unattractive. What could a dentist do to fill the small hole? I have read articles on the internet about bondings and fillings but I don’t really know what they are. Also if the gap was to be filled, would the use of a needle or braces be needed? Thanks in Advance.

is it true that dental hygenist should use instruments pastes technique to clean bonded teeth

Thursday, May 21st, 2009
Q.
I had my 2 front teeth bonded (for a small space and a little chip on one front tooth) a year ago and was told it doesn’t need any special care and can be cleaned normally by the dental hygenist every 6 months (which it has been), but I have recently read (online) that a dental hygenist should use different instruments/pastes/techniques when cleaning bonded teeth in order not to damage the bonding. Is this true? I actually have noticed less shine on my bonding (I can see where the bonding is when looking in a ceratin light) and wondered about the cause and what can be done about it. Also, I was wondering, is there more of a chance a cavity can form around a bonded tooth? I would really appreciate information about all this, thanks!

i have a quite jagged and bumpy teeth would filling be an option to get them straighter?

Monday, May 18th, 2009
Q.
I have recently become quite self concious about the bottoms of my teeth, some are quite jagged and bumpy and my top fron two teeth are quite long. Would filing be an option to get them straighter and would I need to see a cosmetic dentist or just my normal one?

my composite bonding to my front teeth has broken three times why is the bonding not working

Monday, May 18th, 2009
Q.
Hello Dr. Patel, I’ve done composite bonding to close the gap between my two front teeth in 2007. Since then, the bonding has broken out three times in the same spot. The dentist have seen me in 2007, 2008 and now 2009. Why is the bonding not working?

I have a broken back tooth with one whole section of tooth (which looks like a fang) having broken off. What types of crown would be suitable for this scenario and at what cost.
