In 2001 I had Sagittal Split Osteotomy surgery now i am having a lot of problems can you advice

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009
Q.
Okay from the beginning: In 2001 I had Sagittal Split Osteotomy surgery to correct an overbite. At that time all wisdom teeth and four other molars were removed. Since then no problems other than slight numbness in my chin. I can live with that. 3 years ago I had a crown fitted after a tooth which was broken during the removal of the other molars finally cracked. after three months in pain and switch of dentists it was decided that I had to have a second crown fitted as the first was not correctly fitted and there was a gap leading to infection and pain. I was given antibiotics. Last year I had to have root canal treatment on this tooth as the pain was not going away and the throbbing started. Second course of antibiotics. 3 months ago the crowned tooth started giving me problems with hot and cold and my jaw throbs like crazy and i’ve had to give up coffee (no suger in it, just the coffee itself!)as it made it worse. Saw the dentist – he gave me my third course of antibitoics. Now my jaw has started clicking and I don’t know where to turn. The dentist tells me its likely the tooth needs to be pulled but i’m worried that its the jaw thats the problem rather than the tooth. I’ve lost all confidence in dentists and even though i’m with the NHS this tooth has cost me over £1000 already.

A slightest bit of my teeth came out and i do not feel pain do i need to go to dentist now

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009
Q.
Less than two months ago, I chipped one of my teeth on accident. It is just the slightest bit that came out and I do not feel pain. Is this something, though, that could cause me future problems? Should I bring this up to my dentist the next time I go for a scheduled appointment (about a month away), or do I need to go now and have it looked at?

I have had a knawing pain which feels like its the eye tooth please any advice

Friday, April 24th, 2009
Q.
Hi i went to my dentist about 18 monthes ago and he said i needed a new denture and my top tooth next to the eye tooth was twisted.(this tooth had a white filling in it and had never beeen any problems. He persuaded me to have it crowned which i was against.every since i have had a knawing pain which feels like its the eye tooth.my dentist dosnt really listen to what you tell him and ended up doing two root canels on the tooth he had crowned. he done the last one through the tooth and then put a mecury filling in which i wasnt pleased about. cheapest i think.i keep trying to tell him the crowned tooth aches all the while unless i take my denture out.for the last 18 months i have pain/burning in that side of my face.it goes into the ear.this is wearing me down. the dentist will not have its anything to do with the crowned tooth and says ive probably got TMJ and to yawn with my mouth shut and cut up my food. sadly im nhs and once you have paid your fee they dont want to know.i have took antibiotics and anti inflammatorys but these do not help.as i said no problems with that side of my face or teeth until i had that crown and root fillings. please any suggestings.

Tooth moved to its previous position after removing braces suggest dos and donts

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009
Q.
Hello Dr, My top 4 teeth was little protruding, I had put braces for 6 months, actually all the teeths were crowded so doctor had made some gap in between so that my teeth will go in. It moved in but now it has come to the same position and it is shaking and paining. Please suggest what i have to do? If it comes back to the same position then it’s okay but if it protrudes more then it will be a problem. Please suggest what are the do’s and dont’s. Regards

i get intense pain in my front tooth no more than 1 minute at a time is it a problem

Monday, April 20th, 2009
Q.
I am currently getting a fairly significant, intense pain in my front tooth – but it comes and goes and doesn’t last more than 1 minute at a time! It’s been happening for a few weeks now, and the Dentist didn’t seem to think anything was actually wrong with the tooth. Any ideas what this could be? It doesn’t appear to be sensitive to hot or cold, or indeed to touch or tapping.
