Q.
Hi I had two implants fitted about 6 months ago. Today one has come out (it looks like a screw so i assume it is the actual implant?). Apart from what feels like a big hole in my gum i have no pain. My main concearn is that i am 5 weeks pregnant & dont want to do anything that may depardise my pregnancy. My dental practise is closed & i dont want to call the emergency number unecessarily. Your advise would be greatly appreciated.

I had two front teeth knocked out

Monday, November 10th, 2008
Q.
I had two front teeth (one of the very front upper pair and the one next to it further away from the centre)knocked out in an accident three years ago. I am 24 and female. The teeth were put straight back in, but despite root canal work, they have not taken properly. I am told I need two implants, but wondered if one single implant might support two teeth and give a better cosemtic appearance. Also, if I need bone implants, will I have to pay privately for this?

Q.
I am 18 years old and have recently been told by my dentist that i would need to have 2 dental implants fitted on my bottom jaw I was also informed that i would need a bone graft from my hip to build onto the thin bone that was left. i have had the two Gaps (which are towards the back of my mouth) for about 8 years when my adult teeth were removed (but i do not know why they were removed at that time)I am a student, can i get the implants on the nhs since it was not my fault the teeth were removed?

Hi I had a tooth extracted on the bottom right hand side

Thursday, November 6th, 2008
Q.
Hi I had a tooth extracted on the bottom right hand side (more to the front) however Im worried because there is a gap now. Whats the best option is it bridging but is there a such thing as an a individual bridge opposed to having to interupt the other two teeth on either side. Futher what other options are there such as crowns, or geting it capped.

I have just had a dental implant on one of my front teeth

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008
Q.
Hi I have just had a dental implant on one of my front teeth aswell as other dental work to my teeth. I have only just finished my treatment in the last two months, and already I am experiencing a problem with my implant, it is loose, I went to my dentist who tells me the screw has worked loose and this is common in implants, and the only way to deal with it is either to wait until it works its way completely loose or drill through the back of the crown to access the screw. Is this the best way! I have just spent so much money both on the implant and the crown, won’t this weaken the crown. So at the moment I am having to put up with a loose tooth. Thank you in advance.

my mother 72 has lost 2 teeth which are within the visible smile

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008
Q.
My mother is 72. She takes approx 2mg of Warfarin daily as she has a mechanical aortic valve. Her INR is extremelly erratic and she has to have blood tests twice weekly as INR can vary from 2 to 4 within a week. She has lost 2 teeth which are within the visible smile (and 2 others to the side of her mouth). She has just had a plastic bridge constructed and is totally dissatisfied with it. It is enormous and is shaped to the roof of her mouth (has 4 attached dentures). She cannot eat or sleep with it and feels sick as she has a constant gagging feeling. She only really needs the 2 teeth replaced. Is there another option? A metal bridge? Teeth rooted into the gum mechanically? Dental implants? Clearly she is not a straight forward case due to the INR fluctuation but any advice or alternative to the current situation would be greatly appreciated. I live in London and she can stay with me for any procedures. Many thanks
