How Can I Stop the Pain in my Tooth?

Tuesday, April 14th, 2015
Q.

Good evening. I have had a lot of trouble with two of my teeth. I kept getting bad infections. My dentist took the tooth out and gave me a bridge. Once again, two days after I had pus leaking from the tooth with the bridge. After a course of antibiotics my dentist removed the bridge and took out the root which was very smelly and infected and gushed with blood. He had to put a stitch in to stop the bleeding and then put the new plate over the top. I’m in so much pain. He told me to take it out this morning and clean and put it back in. Please can you help me? My next appointment is not until a fortnight’s time. Regards.

I Have An Infection In My Gum And Need My Tooth Removed. What Would The General Cost Be?

Tuesday, November 26th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Shaffie. I have just lost an upper post crown which I have had for around 15 years or so, the tooth had been loose, and I couldn’t get an appointment with my dentist for a whole week, I have since had an infection in the gum resulting in the need for antibiotics. I have been told by my dentist that the remaining tooth {I think it’s the root} needs to be removed. What would the general cost be to have a tooth fitted on a plate? I am at the minute undecided whether or not to just leave the gap. Thank you, your answer would really help me out as I’m unsure what to do.

When my tooth was removed the roots had been left behind, how will this impact on me in the future?

Saturday, December 4th, 2010
Q.

I had a tooth removed but it broke while in the removal process. The roots have been left behind as the dentist could not get them out. Parts of the tooth are still sitting in my gum. How is this going to impact on me in the future. Risks? Possible bad repercussions?

Q.
i had a crown fitted a week ago-the root was removed from the original tooth but i had to have anti inflammatory drugs for a week as i was in so much pain -the crown was fitted after the pain had subsided but now i have really bad pain in the 2 teeth next to the crown and in one on the lower jaw-every time i eat or dri nk anything the pasin is intense and lasts for about 10 minutes-i am taking the max daily amount of pain killers but the pain has not suibsided after a week-if anything it is worse-the dentist says i have receding gums and i am using a sensitive toothpaste but it is a nightmare of pain once i have used the paste-will the pain go as i dont know how much longer i can stand it,
